Job description

Position Summary
The Assistant Home Office Controller - IT - is responsible for performing the functional aspects of the monthly financial close for the department; creating, managing, analyzing and reporting on performance against the IT annual budget and monthly forecasts; and providing general accounting, analytical and procurement support for day-to-day operations.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction for any employer. We are not able to provide visa sponsorship or assume existing sponsorships.
Hiring Range is $74,000 - $97,000 with bonus eligibility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assists the Home Office Controller with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the IT line(s) of business, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and SOX compliance.
  • Develops, manages and tracks performance against budgets and forecasts. Creates and manages accrual schedules related to IT vendor contracts and projects.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports related to operating and capital expenditures, trends, projects, and activities for senior IT leadership.
  • Collaborates with Accounting and IT teams to consolidate and analyze discretionary and non-discretionary spending, including expenditures related to acquisition activity.
  • Monitors and reports capital and acquisition spending to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g., capitalization vs. expense).
  • Responds to ad hoc reporting requests, data extractions, variance analyses, and general accounting needs across the IT organization.
  • Assists with daily procurement activities, including the review and approval of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and accruals. Identifies opportunities for savings and cost reduction.
  • Designs and implements tracking and consolidation methodologies for multiple lines of business and / or departments.
  • As needed, assists the Home Office Controller with non-IT line of business accounting activities, including month end close, budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, 3 years accounting experience, a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment and must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Excellent listening, communication and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, the ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives are necessary. Strong financial and analytical skills, and effective organizational and time management skills are expected.
