Job description

Who We Are

Vermillio believes humanity should thrive in the era of AI. That’s why we’re building essential guardrails for the generative internet  -  starting with TraceID, our AI protection and licensing technology.

Vermillio is the leader in AI guardrails for protection and licensing.  Vermillio brings together 100+ years  of combined AI expertise, with its co-founders each building in AI for more than 15 years. The company is well funded and is already working with world-class IP from partners such as Sony
and Talent Agency WME.

Our technology creates a secure ethical environment for all builders, makers and creators. Our attribution technology ensures proper credit and compensation reach rightful owners, confirming that AI developers have consent and access to high quality ingredients. TraceID puts everyone in control of what they own, what they build with, and what they create. With our platform TraceID, talent and IP holders can take advantage of the benefits of Generative AI in a safe and secure environment while understanding where and how their valuable data is being used.

We are looking for business leaders, support teams and fans of the world’s most beloved IP who believe there can be collaboration between AI platforms and the world’s most valuable IP and well-known talent. We’re leading in a marketplace that is constantly evolving - we need smart, nimble team members who are ready to be a part of this exciting new era.

We are seeking a talented Product Manager (7+ years experience, ideally in enterprise B2B) to have a lead role in  product development for our AI content protection and licensing platform. You'll be responsible for building complex, data-driven experiences that serve both enterprise clients (major media companies, record labels, publishers) and individual creators protecting and monetizing their IP. A key part of this role involves expanding our platform to serve new types of users and creators, while refining how we leverage large-scale data ingestion and processing to surface meaningful insights about content protection, usage patterns, and licensing opportunities. This is a high-impact startup role with significant ownership and the chance to build something from the ground up.

For you, this is a career-defining opportunity to join us during a significant growth stage of Vermillio and have a significant impact on our business. You have experience with working at a fast moving start up, ideally adjacent to the entertainment or creator industries, focused on a scaled user product development experience.

This role will report to the Head of Product  and is open to being 100% remote.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Platform Expansion

  • Support the product roadmap for TraceID's protection and licensing platform - defining how we serve enterprise clients and individual creators
  • Drive platform expansion to new user segments and creator types, translating their unique needs into differentiated product experiences
  • Design experiences for diverse personas: major media companies, record labels, talent agencies, high-profile creators, and emerging artists
  • Make high-stakes product decisions with significant autonomy in a fast-paced, high-impact startup environment

Data-Driven Product Development

  • Architect how we transform large-scale data systems (annotation, content detection, attribution) into actionable insights for users
  • Leverage LLMs and custom models to surface meaningful patterns in content usage, protection effectiveness, and licensing opportunities
  • Work closely with engineering to refine how we ingest, process, and present complex data non-technical users

Front-End & User Experience Leadership

  • Own how we surface detection results, usage patterns, licensing opportunities, and threat alerts to users with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Design information architecture that helps users quickly understand where their content appears across the internet and how it's being used
  • Collaborate directly with designers and engineers to build data-rich interfaces that balance comprehensiveness with ease of use
  • Ship quickly, gather user feedback on how users interpret and act on data, and iterate rapidly based on real-world usage patterns

Enterprise Client Engagement

  • Work directly with first enterprise customers - major media companies, record labels, and publishers - to understand pain points and requirements
  • Participate in sales conversations and product demos, translating customer needs into product specifications
  • Build relationships with decision-makers in entertainment and media industries
  • Research how traditional media companies are approaching AI partnerships to position TraceID's capabilities strategically

Startup Ownership & Growth

  • Establish product development processes and best practices as the team scales
  • Wear multiple hats and take on responsibilities beyond traditional PM scope as needed
  • Contribute to hiring and company culture as we build out the team
  • Drive immediate business impact - your decisions directly influence revenue goals and customer acquisition

What You'll Work On

Engineering Collaboration Work as a close partner to our engineering team. You'll write clear requirements, participate in sprint planning, and be present throughout development to answer questions and make tradeoffs in real time.

Data-Driven Product Decisions Use product analytics and client data to identify opportunities and validate decisions. You're comfortable pulling insights from tools like Mixpanel, working with data testing, and using findings to drive prioritization.

Pipeline Automation and Process Efficiency Identify bottlenecks in our existing data and content pipelines and drive improvements. Evaluate and integrate new tools, AI, and automation to reduce manual work and increase throughput. You'll work closely with engineering to spec and ship these improvements.

Market Research and Product Market Fit Own ongoing competitive research and customer discovery. Translate findings into product decisions and help shape our positioning as we scale.

Design and User Experience Own design and UX decisions within your workstreams. You'll create wireframes, define user flows, and work closely with engineering to ensure quality implementation. A strong eye for product design and experience building intuitive interfaces is essential.

Enterprise Client Solutions Partner directly with top clients to understand their needs and define solutions. You'll be the connective tissue between client feedback and what gets built, helping us deliver customized value without letting the product become a dev shop.

Consumer to B2B Transition Help lead the product evolution from a consumer-facing app to a scalable B2B platform. This includes rethinking navigation, onboarding, role-based access, and how enterprise users experience the product differently from individual users.

What We're Looking For
You:

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Early start up experience
  • Clear communicator who can work across engineering, customers, and leadership without losing context
  • Strong UX background with experience owning design decisions and working within your work streams
  • Comfortable with technical concepts -- APIs, data pipelines, automation, and AI integrations
  • Strong understanding of current AI tools, trends, and solutions, with hands-on experience writing and refining prompts across different models and use cases
  • Passion for working with leading edge, web-based technologies and a desire to be a thought leader in the GenAI space
  • A general understanding of Licensing IP and create use cases in entertainment
  • Experience working directly with enterprise clients or in a client-facing capacity
  • Data-driven mindset -- you use analytics to inform decisions, not just validate them
  • Experience taking a product upmarket or through a consumer-to-B2B transition is a strong plus
  • Hands-on with Jira, Confluence, Figma, and analytics tools
  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies and best practices
  • Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding task management skills across a varied set of responsibilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address customer needs and concerns.
  • An agile mindset and approach with the ability to adroitly navigate change and ambiguity
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer on an ongoing basis

What You’ll Get

  • Day-to-day exposure to the world’s top talent and IP
  • Working with a very seasoned and world-class AI and Machine Learning team
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Equity in a tech company in the most exciting, fastest growing sector
  • Flexible spending account, with company contribution
  • Health, dental and vision insurance
  • 401k
  • Opportunity for remote work

Nice to Have

  • Background in creator economy, music, media, or IP/rights tech
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-powered products or content scoring systems

What to Expect

This is a collaborative role with high ownership and low bureaucracy. You'll report directly to the Head of Product and work hand in hand with another Product Manager to divide and conquer across the product. You'll collaborate closely with a tight engineering team and have real input on product direction. The work is meaningful! We're helping artists, creators, music labels and other IP owners protect their likeness and work in the GEN AI era.
