Position Overview

At Autodesk, we do what no other company can: we help our customers design and make anything. The Experience Foundations team at Autodesk plays a critical role in designing the experiences that make that mission a reality, especially in this transformative moment where seamless digital experiences and AI-powered innovation will empower customers and teams to achieve meaningful outcomes faster.

Within the Experience Foundations team for AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction), we are seeking a Senior Principal Content Strategist to lead system-level content strategy for Autodesk's agentic for a VP-led AI initiative. Reporting to a Senior Manager of Content Strategy, this role will be responsible for defining how conversational guidance, product voice, artifact language, and learning scaffolding work together to create a cohesive, intuitive, and high-trust AI-native experience as product capabilities evolve. As a senior strategic leader, this person will architect the content frameworks and governance models that enable AI agents to communicate clearly, act helpfully, and scale consistently across industries, use cases, and increasingly interconnected workflows across multiple products. They will also help shape user interfaces and customer experiences that are easy to use, provide transparency and control, manage expectations, and ideally spark joy. The content systems they help develop will be able to evolve as quickly as the product, supporting frequent releases with a unified, outcome-oriented user experience in a measurable way.

This moment requires us to work in new ways-using AI internally to improve how we operate, make decisions, and deliver experiences, while also building trusted AI capabilities that help our customers automate repetitive work, accelerate creativity, and unlock smarter, more connected workflows. To deliver on our vision, we need exceptional contributors and leaders who are curious, adaptable, customer-focused, and excited to help shape the future of work at Autodesk.

For consideration, candidates must include both a resume + portfolio with password when applying.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the end-to-end content strategy for Autodesk's agentic experience, ensuring voice, guidance, and interaction patterns scale with product complexity

  • Establish standards and governance for conversational UX, artifact language, response structures, terminology, and instructional scaffolding across workflows and industries

  • Architect content systems that enable AI agents to deliver intuitive, context-aware, and outcome-oriented experiences that feel coherent and trustworthy

  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and Design Systems to shape agent behaviors and content patterns as part of the product development lifecycle

  • Create reusable frameworks, principles, and decision models that keep content quality high while supporting rapid iteration and frequent releases

  • Ensure the product's linguistic and logic-based experience reflects Autodesk's quality bar for clarity, consistency, usefulness, and trust

  • Lead content strategy for complex and ambiguous problem spaces, translating emerging AI capabilities into scalable interaction models and guidance systems

  • Drive alignment across teams on how content should support user understanding, task completion, confidence, control, and learning over time

  • Identify and eliminate friction in enterprise experiences by designing content approaches that reduce rework, simplify complexity, and improve continuity across sessions and surfaces

  • Influence roadmap decisions by advocating for content strategy as a core part of system design, product intelligence, and customer experience quality

  • Define success metrics for content quality and effectiveness and partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate and continuously improve the experience through research and iteration

  • Mentor others and raise the practice of content strategy by modeling strong systems thinking, AI-forward ways of working, and high standards for craft and execution

  • Collaborate with content strategists across AEC's product teams to ensure product-specific considerations are accounted for and create cohesion across the product ecosystem

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, conversation design, information architecture, or related disciplines in complex digital product environments

  • Proven experience leading content strategy for large-scale, multi-surface product ecosystems with strong systems thinking and cross-functional influence

  • Deep expertise in conversational UX, content design for AI-driven experiences, and designing guidance that helps users navigate complex workflows

  • Familiarity with AI tools, agentic systems, and the opportunities and risks involved in designing AI-native user experiences

  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable and measurable content frameworks, governance models, and design standards that support consistency across teams and products and quality at scale

  • Strong understanding of how language, interaction logic, and product behavior work together to shape trust, usability, and customer outcomes

  • Experience partnering closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Research to influence product direction and deliver integrated user experiences

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate ambiguity and emerging concepts into clear strategic direction

  • Track record of working effectively in fast-moving environments where product capabilities evolve quickly and content must keep pace

  • Ability to balance strategic vision with executional rigor, including developing principles, patterns, and operational approaches that scale

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the AEC industry

  • Passion for applying product design, AI, and content strategy to empower designers, makers, and builders
