Account Manager, Commercial Risk Management Construction - Job Description
Position Summary
The Account Manager provides ongoing support and service to commercial property and casualty clients in partnership with Client Managers. This role is responsible for servicing existing accounts, supporting renewals, assisting with new business efforts, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency across policy administration and client deliverables. The position is primarily internally focused with some client interaction and plays a key role in delivering a high-quality client experience while supporting revenue growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership & Ownership
• Support ownership of client service workflows and account management activities in partnership with Client Managers.
• Act as a subject matter resource for policy servicing, billing, and claims-related processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely handling of client and carrier needs.
Hands-On Execution & Delivery
• Assist in the renewal process including gathering information, ordering EMOD data, preparing renewal files, verifying quotes, and generating proposals.
• Prepare certificates, binders, auto ID cards, and other client deliverables.
• Manage policy changes, documentation, and follow-ups with carriers and clients.
• Prepare invoices and maintain accurate records in agency management systems.
Reporting, Quality & Operational Support
• Maintain accurate account and policy data and audit policies for discrepancies.
• Monitor placements with carriers and follow up as needed.
• Resolve client, carrier, or administrative issues efficiently.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration
• Collaborate with Client Managers, Risk Managers, and internal teams to support client needs.
• Communicate renewal updates, deadlines, and key developments to stakeholders.
Growth, Change & Special Initiatives
• Support new business efforts by verifying quotes and assisting in proposal development.
• Participate in special projects and provide backup support to team members as needed.
Process Improvement & Best Practices
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and client service delivery.
• Stay informed on carrier offerings, industry trends, and best practices.
Accountability
• Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality client service and policy administration.
• Maintain data integrity and compliance within agency systems.
• Support seamless execution of renewals and client deliverables.
• Build collaborative relationships across internal teams and with clients.
• Demonstrate strong organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Required
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role within insurance, risk management, or financial services.
• Property and Casualty license.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred
• Associate's degree or some college education.
• Prior client service experience in a property and casualty insurance environment.
