Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth assessments and screenings to evaluate students' mental health needs, identifying contributing factors within their academic and social environments.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that address specific challenges each student faces, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that foster emotional expression, resilience, and coping strategies.
  • Work in concert with school personnel, including teachers and administrators, to develop strategies that promote student well-being and success.
  • Provide supportive resources and education to families, empowering them to engage actively in their childโ€™s recovery journey.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements while ensuring ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse group of students ranging from elementary to high school, addressing various issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. The role requires cultural sensitivity and the ability to connect with students from varying backgrounds, ensuring that all voices are heard and understood.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. A masterโ€™s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of direct experience in mental health counseling, particularly with children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices addressing a range of mental health disorders, particularly in a school setting.
  • Strong therapeutic and communication skills that foster effective relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in educational environments or with school-aged children.
  • Familiarity with school-based mental health initiatives and community resources.
  • Training in specific therapeutic methodologies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
