This is a remote position.

The Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager leads and direct efforts in designated commodity groups that lead cost optimization, improved quality, and enhanced innovation through development of strategic sourcing initiatives, risk management, effective contracting, negotiation tools, and specification development. He/she develops and implements procurement and distribution strategies for multi-business unit gaming company. Analyzes market trends, benchmarks for best practice, assists with specification development. Drives strategic cost management requiring extensive cross-functional interface within the business units and corporate offices. Furnishes procurement analysis and cost data for planning, budgeting, and other functional duties.

  • Manages and lead strategic sourcing process across corporate and multiple business unit sites.
  • Establishes measurable objectives and reports.
  • Advises and guides management in all company purchase decisions, such as price quotes and product quality to ensure the highest level of expertise pertaining to materials management.
  • Works with functional and operational leadership to create appropriate specifications, determine prioritized objectives and strategies, assess risks, and cost/budget objectives.
  • Writes and negotiates contracts.
  • Monitors cost trends for key commodity groups
  • Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price/cost, service standards, quality standards, capability, and strategic match.
  • Negotiates and resolves disputes and performance issues and provides feedback to operational/functional leadership.
  • Performs appropriate budgetary, administrative, and human resources management functions for the department, employee development, performance management, salary reviews. Coaches team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English both orally and written.
  • Must be eligible for, or able to obtain a gaming license in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement role.
  • 3+ years of management experience required.
  • Must have demonstrated performance in supply chain management from demand planning to sourcing strategy development, logistics definition and criteria, comprehensive requests for proposal, source selection criteria, negotiations, and post award administration.
  • Must have proven track record of creating and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives in a medium to large size corporate environment with multiple business units in different states.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multifunctional teams in multiple geographies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, as well as outside contacts.
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Demonstrated analytical and contractual background.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to travel 10-25%
  • Ability to perform and understand financial analysis and total cost of ownership factors.
  • Ability to be proactive in anticipating and managing risk factors.
  • Strong negotiation and contract law skills across a variety of contract types.
  • Experience in direct work with internal customer cross-functional groups is required.
  • Complete knowledge establishing corporate national contracts.
  • Complete knowledge of computerized inventory/procurement system.
  • Well established negotiating and communication skills.
