Job Type: Full-Time / Salaried (Exempt) - $62,000 - $72,000
Job Location: Kodiak HQ: Park City, Utah or Remote
Individual base salary for this role ultimately will depend on numerous factors, including but not limited to experience, job-related skills, relevant education or training, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate could fall anywhere within the stated range. Beyond base salary, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment. This role also is eligible to participate in Kodiak's annual discretionary bonus program, which is dependent on various factors, including individual and company performance.
The Trade Analyst is responsible for the daily activities of trade management, deduction management, and collection of accounts receivable. This role is responsible for all accounts receivable-related tasks but will also be utilized for other related accounting and finance needs as assigned. This role bridges finance, sales, and operations to support trade processes, monitor customer account performance, and contribute to overall financial health.
What will this position do?
  • Reconcile Customer Invoicing with 3PL's Inventory Reporting
  • Accurately process and apply customer deduction spend to the correct GL accounts
  • Applies daily cash receipts to customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
  • Verify all material offsets and deductions charged against invoices including, but not limited to, confirming the trade plan spent via trade planning software by reviewing plans and contracts.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including Kodiak team members, customers, and brokers.
  • Analyze trade deductions, claims, and promotions to identify trends and root causes.
  • Provide insights to improve trade spending efficiency and minimize outstanding receivables.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly AR aging reports, customer payment performance summaries, and KPI dashboards.
  • Document trade agreements, payment terms, credit policies, and report non-compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve disputes related to pricing, promotions, and deductions.
  • Work closely with sales, commercial finance, and customer service teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AR management and trade analysis.
  • Support the automation of AR and trade finance workflows through uploads, scanners, Power BI reports, and partner with IT to create customer specific tools.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and trade finance policies.
  • Dispute and collect all erroneous material offsets and deductions.
  • Collect outstanding receivables to achieve days sales outstanding targets.
  • Administer credit procedures for both new and existing customers.
  • Assist in the monthly close of financial statements including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Assist in preparing and obtaining documentation for the annual audit.
