WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll amp; Accounts Payable Specialist to join our hard-working Accounting team. A strong candidate will show success in prioritization skills and a strong attention to detail. Working with a variety of individuals and tasks, adapting quickly and a detailed focus are key.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all staff, ensuring accurate and comprehensive payroll documentation, including maintenance of personal data, leave plans, benefit deductions, earnings, tax withholdings, and other miscellaneous deductions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee timecards, verifying hours and paid time off. Make adjustments as necessary.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all time and attendance system processes and procedures, with a thorough understanding of related pay-related benefits and policies.
  • Ensure compliance by conducting audits and checks to confirm accuracy in data entry and payroll calculations. This includes an audit of benefit vendor monthly invoices.
  • Generate, manage, and audit payroll reports. This includes the maintenance, filing, and storage of all records.
  • Create payroll entries within the Company ERP system; collaborate with Supervisor to ensure proper reconciliation at the close of each period.
  • Set up and maintain tax codes for all state authorities; update as needed upon notice of changes.
  • Assist with year-end payroll reconciliation, including accrued PTO, open enrollment changes, and W-2 processing.
  • Support other accounts payable department functions as requested.
  • Stay informed on federal and multi-state labor laws and regulations related to payroll to ensure Company compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR and other various departments to support payroll integrity and compliance.
  • Distribute reports in accordance with department schedules.
  • Build trusted, competent, and confident relationships with internal employees and external partners through effective communication and a thorough understanding of services offered.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience required.
  • Proven experience with timekeeping systems and certified payroll reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage laws.
