While field visits may occasionally be required, most data collection and analysis can be managed remotely, making clear communication and proactive problem-solving essential skills for success in this role.

What is remote coastal engineering?

Remote coastal engineering involves using technology and digital tools to conduct engineering work related to coastlines, such as shoreline protection, erosion control, and marine infrastructure, from a location away from the physical site. Professionals in this field analyze data, create models, and design solutions for coastal challenges using remote sensing, GIS, and other software. This approach enables engineers to collaborate globally, minimize travel, and efficiently manage projects while still addressing complex coastal issues.
