• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, accurately identifying specific psychological needs and conditions.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on emotional resilience associated with aging and navigating significant life transitions.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop detailed and personalized care plans that meet the unique mental health needs of geriatric clients.
• Educate families and caregivers on effective strategies to support the emotional well-being and mental health of elderly individuals.
• Provide grief and loss counseling for residents and their families, addressing the emotional complexities surrounding end-of-life issues.
• Implement and supervise cognitive stimulation programs designed to enhance mental acuity in elderly residents.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of all counseling sessions and care recommendations, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in geriatric mental health.
