How much do remote cloud seeding jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 17, 2026, the average hourly pay for remote cloud seeding in the United States is $61.71, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $54.09 and $74.04 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Remote cloud seeding jobs are typically specialized roles in atmospheric science or environmental engineering that may pay high daily rates, especially for experts with advanced certifications and experience. Such positions often involve consulting or project-based work and can pay around $2,000 or more per day depending on the scope and client. These roles are usually project-specific and require specialized skills in meteorology, data analysis, and environmental technology.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

Remote cloud seeding is a specialized field that typically requires technical expertise and often advanced education or certifications; it is unlikely to pay $10,000 a month without relevant experience. Generally, high-paying jobs without a degree include roles in sales, real estate, entrepreneurship, or skilled trades, but these often depend on performance and market conditions. Most high-earning remote jobs in technical fields usually require specific skills, certifications, or experience rather than formal degrees alone.

What states allow cloud seeding?

Cloud seeding is permitted in several states across the U.S., including Colorado, California, and Nevada, where weather modification programs are actively conducted. Regulations vary by state, and employment in remote cloud seeding roles often requires knowledge of environmental laws, meteorology, and specialized equipment. Job seekers should research state-specific regulations and certifications related to weather modification activities.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

High-paying jobs related to remote cloud seeding or atmospheric science are rare, with most roles in this field typically earning well below $500,000 annually. Executive positions, specialized consultants, or roles in large corporations involved in climate modification projects may reach or exceed this level, often requiring advanced degrees, extensive experience, and unique expertise. Such salaries are uncommon and usually involve additional bonuses or profit-sharing arrangements.

What is the difference between Remote Cloud Seeding vs Remote Weather Data Analyst?

AspectRemote Cloud SeedingRemote Weather Data Analyst
Required CredentialsEnvironmental science or meteorology degree, specialized training in cloud seeding techniquesDegree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or related field; data analysis certifications
Work EnvironmentField operations, laboratory, or remote planning; often involves outdoor and technical workPrimarily office or remote work analyzing weather data and creating reports
Industry UsageWeather modification companies, environmental agencies, agricultureResearch institutions, government agencies, private consulting firms
Comparison Search IntentUnderstanding technical roles in weather modificationAnalyzing weather data and trends remotely

Remote Cloud Seeding involves active weather modification techniques, requiring specialized environmental knowledge and fieldwork. In contrast, Remote Weather Data Analysts focus on analyzing weather data remotely to support decision-making. Both roles require meteorological expertise but differ in work environment and job functions.

Job description

Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system to solve water scarcity and inclement weather problems. We develop and incorporate radar validation, weather-resistant UAS, numerical weather modeling, and sustainable cloud seeds into an effective precipitation enhancement solution.

The Satellite Applications Specialist is responsible for the acquisition, processing, and analysis of satellite cloud and precipitation data for cloud seeding validation. This role requires a deep understanding of satellite remote sensing principles, meteorological processes, and data analysis techniques. The specialist will work closely with meteorologists, data scientists, and software engineers to develop and implement advanced data processing algorithms and workflows.
What You'll Do
  • Data Acquisition: Identify and access publicly available meteorological satellite data from various platforms (e.g., GOES, Meteosat, MODIS, Sentinel, etc.). Develop and maintain data acquisition workflows to retrieve large multi-spectral datasets. Implement data storage and management strategies.
  • Data Ingestion and Processing: Ingest satellite data into data processing systems. Perform data quality checks. Define and implement correction methodologies. Apply atmospheric correction algorithms to account for the effects of the atmosphere on satellite measurements. Develop and implement advanced algorithms for quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE) and phase classification based on machine learning methods.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze satellite data to extract meteorological information, such as cloud cover, precipitation intensity, cloud phase, and atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles. Work to analyze real-time and archival case studies. Develop and apply data visualization techniques to represent meteorological phenomena. Contribute to scientific research projects and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Algorithm Development: Develop and test new algorithms for satellite data processing and analysis. Collaborate with data scientists and meteorologists to improve existing algorithms. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in satellite remote sensing and data analysis techniques.
  • Precipitation Enhancement Applications: Support precipitation enhancement operations by providing satellite data analysis to identify suitable cloud targets and assess the effectiveness of seeding efforts. Develop algorithms to estimate the potential for precipitation enhancement from precipitation enhancement.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in meteorology, atmospheric science, remote sensing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of satellite remote sensing principles and meteorological processes.
  • Experience with data acquisition, processing, and analysis of large datasets. This involves distributed computing methods, database management systems, data partitioning, vectorizing operations, and GPU acceleration.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services cloud computing for external data sources, and internal instance management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, C++).Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques, for satellite applications.
