As a Mental Health Counselor with Valley Healing Counseling Services, your core responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on thorough client assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations.
• Leading therapy sessions utilizing various evidence-based methodologies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
• Facilitating therapist-led support groups, if desired, to enhance community support among clients.
• Encouraging clients to utilize available community recovery resources (e.g., AA, Smart Recovery), and integrating these options into their individualized treatment plans.
• Maintaining clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with all remote counseling regulations.
• Engaging with our Content Manager to create educational materials like “Expert Insights” as part of your contribution to community learning.
• Participating in monthly peer group meetings to foster collaboration and professional development.
• Facilitating seamless communication with clients to discuss schedules, treatment progress, and individual needs.

Your primary focus will be individuals seeking to improve their relationship with alcohol. Our client base encompasses a wide range of needs and goals, including those interested in moderation versus abstinence models. Understanding the principles of harm reduction and empathetic engagement is crucial when working with clients who may have varying motivations for change.

To be considered for this position, candidates are required to meet the following qualifications:

• Must hold an active LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC license in the state of Washington.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; additional qualifications in counseling or mental health preferred.
• Demonstrated training or certifications in relevant therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
• Solid understanding of community recovery options and the flexibility to adapt treatment plans to incorporate client preferences.
• Exceptional clinical engagement skills, showcasing a commitment to empathy and client-centered care.

Candidates with three or more years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly in outpatient settings, will be given priority. Familiarity with remote therapy practices and technological platforms that enhance client engagement is also preferred. Experience dealing with substance use disorders and knowledge of support frameworks within the recovery community will greatly complement our organizational ethos.

The compensation range for this role is competitive, falling between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually.
