Job Title: Senior Solutions Consultant

Department: Engineering

Location: Westfield, IN / Remote

Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Automated Solutions, a Senior Solutions Consultant leads the design of complex automated material handling systems that provide the best return on investment. They serve as automated material handling technology experts to ensure the appropriate and optimal application of the latest technologies. Working closely with Sales, they develop proposals that meet Customer strategic objectives and exceed their expectations. With their years of experience and industry expertise, they mentor and assist in the development of the department engineering staff.


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Concepting

  • Lead complex automated material handling system design activities that develop a solution that clearly support Customer's objectives
  • Collaborate with the sales team members & Customers to evaluate the Customer needs and develop the best solution to the Customer
  • Establish credibility with Customers though clearly communicating the process and alternatives considered that led to the proposed solution
  • Proactively ensure that automated solutions consider that latest methods and technologies within the industry to provide our Customers with a competitive advantage
  • Lead internal brainstorming discussions to identify new ideas and solutions
  • Lead supplier evaluation to ensure we have best of breed partners

Proposals

  • Develop Customer proposals and presentations that demonstrate professionalism, industry expertise and clearly communicate the benefits of the system designs
  • Ensure the highest proposal quality while meeting the required deliverable due dates
  • Develop system material flow diagrams and utilize the latest system design techniques

Costing

  • Manage and/or generate cost estimates for proposed material handling integration projects
  • Ensure that concept costing accurately reflects proposal documents and drawings

Tool Usage

  • Utilize Autocad, Sketchup, Configurua and MS Suite to clearly communicate concepts

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Aptitude

  • Superior understanding in warehouse, distribution center and order fulfillment operations
  • Superior capability in creating and understanding operational flow and requirements
  • Highly detail oriented, ability to manage to critical deadlines
  • Strong capability to multitask effectively & prioritize & execute tasks

Knowledge

  • Strong capability with various drawing and MS suite software programs
  • Superior capability in the application of data analysis and modeling tools associated with automated distribution center designs
  • Superior capability in designing automated material handling systems including software design
  • Superior capability of value engineering and ROI analyses

Capability

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Superior capability to define and then analyze data and information needed from Customer for determination of system requirements.
  • Superior capability in writing a high-level functional design description considering all aspects of the solution including operations, software and equipment
  • Collaborate well with others in the department and across the organization
  • Strong motivation to mentor engineering staff
  • Proven capability to lead others including internal resources, suppliers and Customers
