Position Overview

Family Unity Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clientsโ€™ social, emotional, and psychological needs, ensuring tailored support.
  • Provide individual and group counseling utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist clients in overcoming their challenges.
  • Develop and implement service plans that effectively address each clientโ€™s unique goals and objectives.
  • Advocate for clientsโ€™ rights and their access to crucial resources to improve their quality of life.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to expand our range of services and reinforce community support.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of programs, as well as reporting on grant activities to secure ongoing funding.
  • Engage in team meetings and training sessions to share insights, refine practices, and enhance community outreach efforts.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with individuals and families who are facing various challenges and crises, particularly in the hospice care setting. You will provide emotional support, counseling, and advocacy to clients who often require sensitive handling of their complex emotional circumstances. Your work will help facilitate meaningful conversations and provide a safe environment for clients to explore their feelings and concerns.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Demonstrated understanding of social justice issues and familiarity with advocacy practices.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey empathy and understanding.
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing a caseload and meeting deadlines consistently.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit organization or a similar socially focused setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and community resources available in Sacramento.
  • Experience working with hospice patients or in a related healthcare environment is an advantage.
