Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and crisis interventions, ensuring timely and effective care for clients with diverse backgrounds.
  • Facilitate and lead treatment groups, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of our clients in detox.
  • Complete all required documentation meticulously, including statistical reports and patient assessments, to maintain compliance with state regulations.
  • Collaborate with correctional departments to coordinate patient access to services, proper housing arrangements, and treatment plans.
  • Engage in clinical supervision at least once a week with a Clinical Supervisor to ensure continuous professional development.
  • Participate in mental health and medical rounds to provide insights and updates on patient care and treatment progress.
  • Work closely with Reentry Social Workers to plan appropriate discharge strategies for clients transitioning out of treatment.
  • May supervise social work interns or student volunteers, guiding them in best practices and fostering their professional growth.
  • Determine patient disposition to ensure they receive the appropriate level of mental health care, coordinating with other professionals as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The population served includes individuals dealing with substance use disorders, often accompanied by various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. This role demands a sensitive and adaptive approach, as clients range in age from adolescents to adults participating in detox programs. Understanding and relating to clients' lived experiences is vital for building trust and facilitating effective therapy.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline is required.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California is mandatory.
