Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and mission-driven Senior FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Analyst to support financial planning and strategic decision-making in a government contracting environment. This role will play a critical part in managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance in compliance with federal regulations. The ideal candidate has strong experience in defense or government contracting and can translate financial data into actionable insights that support business objectives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts across business units and indirect cost centers
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models supporting revenue, cost forecasting, and profitability analysis
  • Analyze monthly financial results, including variance analysis for direct and indirect costs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Contracts, and Operations to monitor financial performance and cost drivers
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements
  • Assist in indirect rate development, tracking, and forecasting
  • Prepare executive-level financial reports and presentations for senior leadership
  • Support audits, incurred cost submissions, and government reporting requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or government contracting finance, and/or manufacturing finance
  • Strong understanding of government contract types (Cost-Plus, T&M, Fixed Price)
  • Knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), CAS (Cost Accounting Standards), and DCAA requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling expertise
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with government budgeting cycles and contract funding mechanisms
  • Familiary with high-volume manufacturing and understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Power Query, Power Pivot, SQL)

Expected Compensation: The expected compensation range for this role is

$107,224.00 - $133,952.00.
