Job description

UNIVERSAL FAMILY INSURANCE (UFI) is an established Insurance Risk Management company located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Claims Administrator. This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the administrative aspects of insurance claims processing while working closely with internal team members to ensure accurate claim administration and a high level of customer service.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional corporate environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate and support the administrative processing of insurance claims.
  • Review and determine eligibility for medical expense and provider claims in accordance with plan guidelines.
  • Maintain and update claims administration and underwriting database systems.
  • Process claim payments and ensure accurate documentation and tracking.
  • Assist with claim reporting and case loss reserve documentation.
  • Respond to claimant inquiries and work to resolve claim-related issues.
  • Maintain organized claim files and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow processes and administrative efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support effective claims administration.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of claims experience in a corporate or professional environment required
  • Experience in insurance, claims administration, or risk management is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with business software applications; QuickBooks experience is a plus
  • Strong written, verbal, and quantitative skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to work effectively in a small business environment
