You will play a crucial role in providing psychological support, fostering emotional resilience, and promoting overall mental health within our hospice service setting.

About the Organization

The Child and Family Health Center is committed to enhancing community well-being by offering accessible, high-quality mental health services. Located in Reno, Nevada, we specialize in treating individuals and families, irrespective of their economic status. Our ethos centers on person-centered care, and we actively collaborate with various community partners to enhance mental health resources and reduce stigma around mental health issues. Through our innovative services such as counseling, crisis intervention, and case management, we advocate for mental health awareness, striving to integrate mental health support deeply within the community.

Work Environment

This position allows for remote work, offering a flexible and supportive environment. Although the role is primarily conducted from home, you will be part of a close-knit team that values collaboration, regular communication, and professional development. The hospice center provides a compassionate backdrop for your work, with technologies in place to facilitate seamless interactions with colleagues and clients alike. You will have regular virtual team meetings to discuss strategies, share insights, and receive ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will be expected to:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, evaluating clients' mental health needs, strengths, and challenges to develop tailored treatment strategies.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based methodologies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy.
  • Create and implement detailed treatment plans that monitor client progress and adjust interventions based on evolving needs.
  • Actively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and nurses, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients and their families.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including risk assessments, safety planning, and immediate support during emotional emergencies.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and connect them with essential community resources, while offering case management support for their ongoing care.
  • Engage in community outreach to raise mental health awareness and build partnerships that benefit our client population.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse population, including individuals experiencing progressive illness and their families, who may be facing complex emotional situations. Your role will emphasize understanding the unique cultural backgrounds and circumstances of each client while delivering empathetic support during critical transitions in their lives. Your efforts will enhance their mental health, resilience, and overall well-being in challenging times.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
  • An active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of cultural competence and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Exceptional communication, active listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience

While not required, previous experience in a community mental health or hospice setting is preferred. Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and ongoing professional development related to social work will be advantageous in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health insurance options covering medical, dental, and vision.
  • A retirement plan with employer contributions to support your long-term financial health.
  • Generous paid time off policy, offering vacation, sick leave, and personal days.
  • Professional development opportunities, including training and workshops to keep you aligned with industry best practices.
  • Insurance coverage for additional peace of mind.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Child and Family Health Center, we believe in fostering your professional growth. You will have opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge through ongoing training, leadership development programs, and potential advancement within the organization as we grow our services.

Why Join Our Team

By joining our team, you become part of a mission-driven organization focused on improving mental health in the community. Your expertise will not only enhance individual patient care but also contribute to our larger goal of reducing healthcare disparities.
