The Strategic Sourcing Analyst will develop suppliers domestically and internationally to reduce costs, improve quality, and optimize lead times. This role will support Value Analysis (VA/VE), Product Engineering, Product Management, and Regional Supply Chain teams, focusing on Best Value suppliers, New Product Development sourcing, and total cost of ownership analysis. The Analyst will also review and evaluate existing suppliers.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to travel (estimated 20%) both internationally and domestically, including overnight stays.
  • Collaborate with the Global Sourcing team to develop contract strategies and effectively negotiate key commercial and supply positions.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to optimize product cost and quality in partnership with the Global Sourcing team.
  • Manage vendor qualification, onboarding, selection, contract negotiations, and internal approvals with the Global Sourcing team.
  • Negotiate, finalize, and manage long-term Master Supply Agreements aligned with the sourcing strategy.
  • Track, publish, and analyze supplier KPIs (Cost, Quality, Productivity, Service Level) and supplier scorecards to assess performance and value.
  • Gather and monitor supplier performance data with internal stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support monthly scorecard and project reporting, as well as annual strategic plan reporting.
  • Facilitate issue resolution between internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Monitor and ensure supplier contract compliance.
  • Build trust and seek input from all stakeholders to optimize overall impact.
  • Communicate strategies and solutions to achieve cost reduction and lead time improvement.
  • Manage VA/VE and strategic sourcing projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform detailed supply market analysis for commodities, industries, and suppliers related to the Solar product line.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture that encourages communication, shared learning, intelligent risk-taking, creative problem solving, and accountability.
  • Lead and support supply optimization efforts, including consolidation, dual sourcing, and rationalization.
  • Collaborate with the global trade resources to understand import tax/tariff implications.
  • Work with the Corporate Logistics team to understand logistics costs and determine the total cost of ownership.
  • Analyze and update costs in the ERP system to ensure validity and accuracy.
  • Support supplier lean development and value engineering activities.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’ Degree (Engineering or Supply Chain or Science preferred) with 3+ years of relevant experience or associate’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years of experience
  • Commodity Management experience
  • Solar Industry Experience desired
  • Proven track record of supplier development, management, and sustained productivity
  • Strong analytical and negotiating skills
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop and recommend material and process alternatives and work collaboratively with Engineering and Product Management teams
  • Project management skills
  • Develop realistic plans, action steps, and timetables for projects and assignments
  • Consistently meet deadlines
  • Coordinate work with other groups
  • Handle multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Be able to develop and execute initiatives
  • Be able to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with business partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, IFS and similar)
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language.  Expertise in Chinese, Spanish or other languages is a plus.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, transformation planning and implementation activities (Six Sigma, 5S, Toyota model, etc.).
  • CPM or APICS certification or on-the-job training
  • Strong communication and demonstrated leadership skills to inspire confidence and work successfully within cross-functional teams to drive continuous supplier business opportunities
"The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in Colorade is $77,100 -$120,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
