This full-time remote position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families who navigate the challenges of developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The LMFT will work with clients throughout Tampa, Florida, providing therapeutic services aimed at enhancing family dynamics and individual well-being.

About the Organization

At Rockwell Wellness Clinic, we pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive support to youth and families dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals and strengthen family units through targeted therapeutic interventions and community resources. We focus on creating a nurturing environment where both children and their caregivers can thrive, maintaining a commitment to inclusivity and understanding diverse backgrounds, especially for those who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese.

Work Environment

This role operates within a community health clinic setting, with the flexibility of a remote work arrangement. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including social workers and developmental specialists, to address the unique needs of each child and family. Our clinic fosters a dynamic and supportive culture, encouraging continuous learning and collaboration to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, either in-home or through our virtual outpatient center, tailoring interventions to address the specific needs of children and their families.
  • Implement anger management strategies, develop coping mechanisms, and enhance social skills while working to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions or physical aggression.
  • Assist youth and their caregivers in improving decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the Child Family Treatment Team and other relevant professionals, ensuring cohesive support around the youth and family.
  • Complete all necessary documentation—such as initial assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes—within specified time frames to maintain compliance and facilitate client care.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss case updates and provide input on the development of treatment approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children and teens aged 3 to 20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. These young individuals often face unique challenges that require tailored therapeutic approaches. You will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful interactions with families from diverse cultural backgrounds, providing them with the tools and support needed to navigate their journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, primarily from 4-7 pm, with weekend flexibility as an advantage.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for in-home visits.
  • A successful completion of a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting, is mandatory.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support to children with a background in developmental or intellectual disabilities is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience working with children of varying ages, particularly between 3 to 20, is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Our benefits include:

  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities and training.
  • Annual paid time off and group health coverage.
  • Access to short- and long-term disability plans.
  • Participation in a 401K retirement plan.
Career Growth Opportunities

Rockwell Wellness Clinic believes in investing in our employees' growth and development. You will have access to ongoing training and professional development programs that enable you to expand your skills and advance your career within the organization. Opportunities for leadership roles and specialization in areas of interest are available for dedicated team members.

Why Join Our Team
