Function First Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced licensed mental health counselor to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to provide high-quality mental health care to diverse client populations through individual and group therapy sessions. This full-time position operates in a flexible remote setting, allowing you to engage with clients from the comfort of your home while adhering to high standards of clinical practice. You will be part of an outpatient office model, ensuring you have access to resources and support while working closely with a dedicated team of mental health professionals.

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients’ mental health, and document case histories meticulously from the initial consultation through to discharge.
• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using evidence-based practices and diagnostics to identify appropriate treatment needs.
• Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic methodologies.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe, inclusive environment that encourages open dialogue and growth.
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adapting treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure a comprehensive treatment approach.
• Manage referrals to external services when indicated, providing a seamless continuum of care and support.
• Engage in follow-up communication with healthcare professionals for any clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
• Work with family members and primary caregivers to foster a supportive environment that promotes recovery and understanding of mental health issues.

You will work with a diverse population, including individuals with varying degrees of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Your role is crucial in helping clients navigate their experiences and achieve long-term recovery and wellness.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Oregon.
• Pass a score in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a mental health counselor demonstrating professional proficiency.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically AVATAR, to track patient information and facilitate efficient workflow.
• Understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional conditions, including addiction issues, enabling comprehensive client care.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information effectively to clients and the treatment team.
• Strong interpersonal skills that foster rapport with clients, maintaining a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.

• Experience working in a telehealth capacity can be beneficial, given the remote nature of this position.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects on mental health treatment.
• A background in conducting family therapy sessions is advantageous.
