Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and document initial consultations to guide individualized treatment strategies.
  • Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans based on comprehensive assessments of clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage client participation and foster healing.
  • Continuously monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure well-rounded and coordinated care.
  • Manage referrals and coordinate follow-up care for clients requiring additional support.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health challenges, equipping them with tools to navigate recovery.
  • Address potential barriers to treatment and recovery proactively.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clients will include adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. This position emphasizes a strengths-based approach to therapy, focusing on clients' abilities and resilience. Addressing the unique needs and cultural backgrounds of each client will be paramount in your practice, promoting inclusivity and respect.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
  • Successful completion and passing scores on certification exams such as the NCE or NCMHCE.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client data effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience treating a variety of mental health disorders, including those with co-occurring physical health conditions.
  • Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects on mental health treatment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A compassionate, patient-centric approach to care, supporting clients through their mental health journeys.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, complemented by a competitive sign-on bonus.
