This position is open to being part-time or full-time, is mostly remote with occasional in-person client or firm meetings. Preference for candidates living in California, Nevada or Washington state.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Process full-cycle payroll accurately and timely, including employee additions/terminations and variable pay adjustments.
  • Process purchase orders, vendor bills, sales invoices, and cash receipts.
  • Review and record bank and credit card transactions in appropriate accounting software.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, prepaids, accruals, and deferred revenue.
  • Record, manage, and track fixed assets in accordance with client policies.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial records and reports.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation as part of the monthly close process.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting packages for clients.
  • Prepare schedules to support annual income tax returns and financial statement audits.
  • Assist with state and local tax filings, including corporate, sales, business, and property taxes.
  • Support annual 1099 form filing requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants and managers to support client financial strategies.
  • Coordinate HR-related matters with internal or client HR teams as needed.
  • Support various accounting and process improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate professionally and timely with clients, management, and team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred, MBA a plus
  • Public accounting audit background, ideally with a Big Four firm
  • Prefer minimum 1 year up to 3 years client facing experience
  • SAAS and/or Life Sciences experience is a plus
  • 1+ years’ experience with Bill.com, Ramp and or BREX
  • 1+ years’ experience working at a start-up company
  • 1+ years’ experience with QuickBooks online
  • Experience with NetSuite, Xero, Expensify, Gusto, Rippling and or Syft Analytics a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and has exceptional communication skills
Our compensation philosophy is to provide competitive pay aligned with our size and industry. Individual offers are based on qualifications, experience, skill set, location, and internal equity. The posted salary reflects the role described; however, compensation may be adjusted based on a candidate’s level of experience and location and will be communicated transparently during the hiring process.
Compensation range: $77k-$94k
