Hours/Work Schedule: This position is part time, working an average of 5-7 hours per week.The exact schedule and hours may vary based on demand.
Working Conditions: Work may be performed in a classroom, laboratory, simulated cannabis productionenvironment, or other instructional setting.

Basic Statement of Responsibilities
The Cannabis Pathways Instructor delivers high-quality, industry-informed education and training to students preparing for careers in the regulated cannabis industry. The ideal candidate has a combination of practical cannabis industry experience, regulatory compliance knowledge, operational expertise, and strong teaching skills. The instructor will guide students through the fundamentals of cannabis operations, workplace practices, compliance requirements, and the evolving regulatory landscape. This position requires the ability to translate complex regulations and real-world industry practices into engaging, accessible learning experiences that prepare students for employment and continued professional development.
Essential Functions
  • Deliver instruction on cannabis industry operations in classrooms and labs, connecting classroom instruction to actual workplace expectations.
  • Provide current information on cannabis laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, as well as the operational aspects of cultivation, processing, testing, distribution, and dispensaries.
  • Cover regulatory documentation, recordkeeping, inventory control, SOPs, and compliance workflows.
  • Update course content as cannabis regulations change.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and assessment records.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to align curriculum with employer needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay informed about cannabis industry trends and regulations.
  • Support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors necessary for entry-level employment in the cannabis industry.

Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills
  • Proven professional experience in the regulated cannabis industry, including expertise in operational compliance workflows for cannabis cultivation, processing, testing, distribution, and dispensary environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with industry employers and community partners.
  • Ability to use common instructional and technology platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as cannabis science, agriculture, horticulture, biology, business, healthcare, regulatory compliance, education, or a related discipline.
  • Prior teaching, training, facilitation, coaching, or workforce development experience preferred.
  • Experience working with state cannabis regulatory agencies or regulated cannabis businesses.
  • Industry certifications or professional credentials related to cannabis, compliance, cultivation, manufacturing, laboratory operations, or education.
