Job description

Position Title: Part-Time Dispensary Pharmacist
Category: Part-Time, Non-exempt
Location: Hybrid-based in Pittsburgh, PA (Strip District)
Reports to: Dispensary Pharmacist
Compensation: $55.00/hr.-$75/hr. commensurate with experience

Tri-Mountain Pure LLC, dba DRK MTR ("DRK MTR") is Pittsburgh's newest Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Dispensary Operator. We provide certified medical marijuana patients with responsible, compassionate care using marijuana-based medicine. DRK MTR aims to support the societal progress of the marijuana industry in our operating states and beyond. We are committed to positively impacting our local communities through job creation, economic revitalization and community giving.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Part-Time Dispensary Pharmacists at DRK MTR play a critical role in delivering a high-quality, patient-centered experience at every visit. They are responsible for providing individualized consultations and working collaboratively with patients to develop care plans that align with the patient's medical conditions and their physician's certification. Part-Time Dispensary Pharmacists also ensure full compliance with all Pennsylvania Department of Health Medical Marijuana Program regulations, as well as DRK MTR's internal patient care standards and procedures.
By consistently delivering an elevated level of service, Part-Time Dispensary Pharmacists model professionalism, compassion, and attentiveness across the organization. They are expected to create a welcoming environment, demonstrate empathy and sensitivity toward patients' medical needs, and ensure each patient feels supported and informed throughout their visit. In addition to clinical responsibilities, Part-Time Pharmacists manage operational tasks such as answering phones, navigating multiple software systems to verify patient data, processing orders, and completing sales transactions.
Part-Time Pharmacists also provide leadership and operational support, including reporting, participation in hiring and training efforts and staff coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain full compliance with all Pennsylvania Department of Health Medical Marijuana Program and local regulations.
  • Verify each patient's physician certification prior to dispensing and ensure all physician-imposed limitations or restrictions are followed.
  • Utilize the Pennsylvania state seed-to-sale tracking system and patient certification database accurately and consistently.
  • Conduct patient consultations to review medical history, current prescriptions, and over-the-counter medication usage.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care to help determine appropriate treatment options.
  • Educate patients on available delivery methods and product formats.
  • Maintain working knowledge of marijuana strains, formulations, expected effects, possible side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  • Adjust and recommend appropriate cannabinoid dosing (including CBD and/or THC) to support symptom relief and therapeutic goals.
  • Develop and deliver educational materials and sessions for patients and healthcare practitioners, including presentations and written resources.
  • Ensure marketing and patient communications comply with Pennsylvania medical marijuana advertising and promotion regulations.
  • Provide an exceptional patient experience from arrival through checkout.
  • Assist patients in selecting products that best meet their medical needs and personal preferences.
  • Support management with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and coaching team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Ability:
Must-have requirements for this position:
  • Possession of a license to practice pharmacy as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy (REQUIRED)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid government-issued ID.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background screening.(Federal, PA State, and Fingerprinting)
  • Complete the state required continuing education program
  • Complete the state required 4 hour continuing education program required for healthcare professionals
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.

Other Requirements:
  • 2-3 years minimum experience required
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.

Physical Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of five feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
  • Comfortable working in a marijuana retail environment.
  • This job operates in a retail environment with regular interaction with customers and team members. The role may involve occasional travel to attend training or industry events.
