Sales Director- Insurance Investment Accounting Solutions
Locations: Remote US OR Hybrid
About the Role
SS&C sells innovative technology and value-add services to insurance companies that need timely, accurate accounting and reporting for the public and private investments they hold in their General Account and through Separately Managed Accounts. SS&C's solutions are designed to centralize, automate, and streamline all investment activities across the insurance company's middle- and back-office operations, allowing them to meet their unique Statutory accounting requirements and regulatory reporting obligations to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Key functions SS&C supports with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Outsourcing Services include, but are not limited to, trade capture and post-trade compliance; management of valuations, corporate actions, and security master; reconciliation and exception resolution; multi-basis, multi-currency investment accounting (e.g., GAAP, STAT, Tax, IFRS); unstructured data collection and document management for alternative investments; performance measurement and attribution; risk analytics; and insurance regulatory reporting.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Drive new logo sales within the US insurance market, including SaaS offerings and outsourced investment accounting, operations, reporting and analytics services.
  • Lead the entire sales process from prospecting through closing, including conducting discovery to qualify opportunities, preparing subject matter experts and other team members, developing presentations, providing quality and timely follow-up to prospects, creating pricing proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline of short-, medium- and long-term opportunities through active outreach and nurturing relationships with decision-makers.
  • Conduct high volume of outreach, including calling, emailing, and running marketing campaigns to generate new leads and opportunities, using Salesforce, Salesloft, and other mediums.
  • Prepare for prospect meetings with high degree of organization and attention to detail, and deliver high quality presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Take a consultative approach to understanding a prospect's challenges, priorities and strategic objectives, and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Develop a thoughtful strategy and execution plan for every prospect engagement, leading to a well-run sales process and high close rate.
  • Run complex, consultant-led Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, ensuring responses are consistent, of the highest professional quality, and submitted on time.
  • Maintain relationships with industry consultants and other influencers to create advocates for SS&C in the market and drive referrals.
  • Create and distribute continuous thought leadership to address industry trends and challenges, promote SS&C's expertise and build our reputation.
  • Plan and attend industry conferences with proactive outreach to schedule meetings with target prospects and maximize our return on investment.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal team members and executives to strategize, prepare, and execute on new client opportunities.
  • Organize PowerPoint slides and talking points for internal presenters, including executives and subject matter experts.
  • Build rapport with executive decision makers at the prospect and develop relationships at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Work diligently as an individual contributor and collaboratively with the broader sales team to accurately forecast and consistently achieve revenue targets.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of SS&C products and services and be able to communicate our unique value proposition to prospective clients.

Required Experience
  • 10+ years sales experience, preferably managing complex strategic sales processes.
  • Understanding of insurance company investment portfolios, including private and alternative products, investment operations and technology, regulatory capital requirements, asset allocation strategies, tax, and risk management.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to drive new revenue in a complex, performance-oriented environment.
  • Organizational intelligence and ability to navigate a large, global organization.
  • Flexibility to travel.
