Sales Manager / Account Executive - (Premium Snack / Nuts)

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

Position: Sales Manager / Account Executive - (Premium Snack / Nuts)

Location: New Jersey / New York

A rapidly growing, specialty food retailer is expanding its footprint and seeking a Sales Manager / Account Executive to lead its wholesale and retail expansion.

This role will lead new wholesale and retail sales activities, focusing on expanding distribution, increasing shelf presence, negotiating contracts, securing new accounts, and growing sales with key customers such as Costco, BJ's Wholesale, Sam's Club, Stop & Shop, TJX Companies, Kroger, Albertsons, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and other regional and national retailers.

This is a hands-on, tactical role where you will drive retail placement.

There is also opportunities to cross-sell premium Mediterranean specialty items from this company's sister brand.

Responsibilities:

  • New Account Acquisition: Identify, pursue, and secure high-volume business opportunities with major retail chains, club stores, and wholesale distributors.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with retail buyers, category managers, and merchandising teams.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, promotions, annual agreements, contracts, and optimal shelf placement.
  • Account Growth & Promotion: Manage existing accounts and present new products, seasonal programs, and promotional opportunities to maximize same-store sales.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, Logistics, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution and distribution expansion.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales organization as the company continues to scale.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years specifically managing national retail and wholesale accounts.
  • Industry Background: Deep experience within consumer packaged goods (CPG), food, snack, confectionery, specialty foods, or related industries.
  • Track Record: Proven success opening major retail/wholesale channels, negotiating large contracts, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Established Network: Preferred existing relationships with buyers at major national retailers, grocery chains, and club stores.
  • Commercial Skills: Exceptional presentation, negotiation, contract structuring, and relationship-building capabilities.
