What is a remote business formation specialist?

Remote Business Formation Specialists are professionals who assist clients with starting and registering new businesses, all while working remotely. They guide clients through choosing business structures (like LLCs or corporations), preparing necessary documents, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. These specialists often work for legal service firms or as independent consultants, using online tools to communicate and file paperwork. Their expertise helps entrepreneurs efficiently launch their businesses without the need for in-person meetings.

How does a remote business formation specialist typically collaborate with clients and legal teams during the formation process?

As a Remote Business Formation Specialist, you will regularly interact with clients via email, phone, or video calls to gather essential information and guide them through each step of forming their business entity. You’ll also work closely with legal teams to ensure that all documentation is accurate, compliant with state regulations, and submitted on time. Effective communication and organization are key, as you’ll often need to coordinate between clients and legal professionals to resolve questions or clarify requirements. This collaborative approach helps deliver a smooth and efficient business formation experience for clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote business formation specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Business Formation Specialist, you need a solid understanding of business registration processes, legal compliance, and strong organizational skills, often supported by a background in business administration or paralegal studies. Familiarity with digital documentation platforms, state filing systems, and customer relationship management (CRM) software is typically required. Job description

About doola
doola is a dynamic company committed to simplifying the complexities of business formation, payment setup, compliance, taxes, and more. We empower entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes to navigate the intricate landscape of financial and regulatory requirements with ease, allowing them to focus on what truly matters - building and growing their ventures.
We're a Series A, Y Combinator-backed company (S20) serving thousands of founders globally, with a particular focus on non-US founders building US businesses.
We're at the stage where channel-level investments compound for years, and organic and AI search is one of the most strategic of those investments. The category authority for LLC formation in AI search is being established right now - and we want to win it.
About Us

doola is looking for a highly strategic and hands-on SEO / GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Specialist to own and scale our organic growth engine with the primary goal of driving paid plan purchases through traditional search and AI search. This is a senior, high-impact role for someone who can operate autonomously, define strategy, and execute across SEO, content, and AI-driven discovery channels. You will be responsible for building and executing a unified strategy that increases our visibility across both traditional search engines and AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, with a strong focus on driving high-intent traffic and revenue rather than just traffic. If you have a deep understanding of SEO, backlinking, and how AI models surface and cite content, and you think in terms of business impact rather than vanity metrics, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own organic and AI search as a revenue channel. Drive measurable paid plan purchases (Starter, Tax & Compliance, Business-in-a-Box, etc.) through SEO and GEO. Track contribution to weekly Cash-In, not vanity metrics.

  • Build doola's category authority across Google and AI search. Own and execute doola's SEO and GEO strategy across blog, landing pages, and AI-driven discovery platforms. Map LLM belief-state across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude for priority queries. Identify citation gaps vs. competitors

  • Develop conversion-focused content strategy mapped to specific products. Build keyword and query maps that route searchers to the right product page based on intent and stage of journey. Stop sending early-funnel research traffic to commercial pages, and stop landing high-intent buyers on top-of-funnel content. Optimize content and brand presence for AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to increase citation frequency and visibility.

  • Identify and close authority gaps through digital PR and high-trust backlinks. Manage citation-building campaigns - proprietary data, listicle placements, executive thought leadership in publications LLMs trust.

  • Manage external vendors and contractors for digital PR, link acquisition, content production, and technical SEO. Brief, measure, and optimize vendor performance against business outcomes, not output volume.

  • Lead technical SEO and on-page execution in partnership with engineering. Audit site health, prioritize technical fixes, and ensure commercial pages (formation, bookkeeping, tax filing, etc.) are optimized for both Google rankings and LLM citation.

  • Coordinate with paid media, CRO, and product teams to align organic and paid strategy, optimize landing page conversion (alongside our CRO Lead), and feed product insight back into marketing.

  • Report weekly leading indicators and monthly revenue contribution to the marketing team and leadership. Translate channel work into business impact in language the rest of the company understands.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years+ of experience in SEO, content strategy, or organic growth roles, ideally in high-growth, performance-driven environments where you owned revenue contribution (not just traffic)

  • Demonstrated experience moving organic from 'traffic source' to 'revenue channel.' Concrete examples of campaigns that drove measurable conversion or pipeline.

  • Proven experience building and scaling SEO programs, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and backlink acquisition strategies including digital PR, listicle placements, and citation-building strategies.

  • Strong familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar platforms and the ability to combine multiple data sources into clear narratives

  • Hands-on experience with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) surface, rank, and cite content that goes beyond awareness and measured results for a business.

  • Familiarity with AI search tracking tools like Otterly.AI, Peec AI, LLMrefs, or Profound.

  • Experience working with content management systems such as Webflow, WordPress, or equivalent.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect organic growth metrics to revenue, conversions, and customer acquisition.

  • Experience working with keyword research, content planning, and conversion-focused landing page strategies.

  • Ability to manage external agencies, freelancers, or contractors in SEO, content, or link-building initiatives.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with content, marketing, and product teams in fast-paced environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Why Join Us

  • Opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative company at the forefront of the industry (First formation company to integrate an MCP with Claude/Replit)

  • Own a channel that's genuinely up for grabs. AI search positioning for brands is being established right now - the brands' LLMs cite as default answers in the next 12-18 months will likely hold those positions for years. You'd be the one driving doola's claim to that position.

  • Collaborative and supportive team environment with opportunities for growth and development.

  • Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere with a stable internet connection.

  • Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives.

If you are passionate about helping businesses succeed and thrive, and you possess the skills and experience outlined above, we want to hear from you! Join us at doola and be part of a team dedicated to simplifying the path to business success.
doola is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
