POSITION SUMMARY

The Qualifier is a licensed Professional Engineer who serves as Inspected's designated technical authority for building code compliance across a wide variety of company projects, including Quality Assurance, delivery of Certificate of Compliance (COC) affidavits, superior customer service for contractors, flawless delivery of virtual inspections, issue mitigation, and other operational improvement initiatives as required. This position reports directly to the CEO and manages multiple projects on a daily basis.
 
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Plan Review & Code Compliance
  • Reviews submitted plans and engineering documents for building code compliance as it relates to inspections.
  • Reviews all pertinent construction documentation per clients' requests and provides honest, unbiased analysis and consultation upon review.
  • Checks plans for conformity to applicable codes and approved documents.
  • Ensures project requirements are met and compliant with inspection specifications, requirements, and company policies and procedures.
  • Stays up to date on all Building Code modifications and municipality processes, which may differ by jurisdiction.
Quality Assurance & Client Relations
  • Maintains accurate and complete inspection records and exercises tact and courtesy when conducting Quality Assurance.
  • Provides Quality Control and recommendations for how Inspected can improve throughout all facets of the inspection and plan review process.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and properly resolves unique problems or situations with contractors and municipalities.
  • Provides helpful information and assistance to the public, contractors, and other employees.
  • Builds and maintains effective customer service relationships with clients and government officials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
WHAT YOU'LL BE MEASURED ON
 
  • Accuracy and turnaround time of plan reviews and COC affidavit delivery
  • Quality and consistency of QA reviews across inspection and plan review output
  • Client and contractor satisfaction and strength of working relationships
  • Reduction in code-compliance issues and rework
  • Successful resolution of escalated contractor and municipality issues
 
WHAT YOU BRING
 
  • Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Eligibility to serve as a Qualifier under Florida's Private Provider program (Chapter 553, Florida Statutes).
  • Strong working knowledge of the Florida Building Code (FBC) and applicable municipal processes.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents, engineering plans, and permit submittals for code compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused, consultative approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact professionally with contractors, government officials, and internal teams.
Preferred
  • Experience with virtual or remote inspection and plan review workflows.
  • Prior experience as a Qualifier or Authorized Representative under a Private Provider program.
  • Familiarity with Inspected's Permit Hub platform or similar inspection/permitting software.
  • Structural Engineer qualifications
