Job description

Director of Product Marketing – Coherent DSP & Optical Networking
Location: Irvine, CA (HQ) or remote
About Celero
Celero Communications (https://celero.inc/) is building the next generation of intelligent optical connectivity for AI infrastructure. Founded in 2024 by industry pioneers from Broadcom, Inphi, Marvell, and ClariPhy, Celero brings together decades of coherent DSP innovation with a focused mission to deliver the optical performance, power efficiency, and scalability required for tomorrow's AI-driven data centers. We believe the future of AI infrastructure will be defined not only by speed, but by intelligence, energy efficiency, and the ability to seamlessly move massive amounts of data across increasingly complex networks. Our mission is to build the technology foundation that makes this possible. Headquartered in Irvine, California, with engineering teams in Canada and Argentina, Celero develops advanced coherent Digital Signal Processing (DSP) solutions that enable high-bandwidth, low-power optical connectivity for hyperscale AI infrastructure.
About the job
Celero is seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially-driven Marketing Director to build and lead the global go-to-market strategy for our next-generation Digital Signal Processor (DSP) product line. As an early-stage leader in our high-growth startup, you will have a massive impact on our trajectory. You will bridge advanced chip design with global market adoption, turning our technical architecture into compelling commercial solutions. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this role requires a strategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to draft technical whitepapers, launch global campaigns, and secure anchor customer design wins.
Key Responsibilities
• Corporate Strategy Support: Execute Celero's overall marketing strategy to support corporate growth, product adoption, and brand awareness.
• Strategic Roadmapping: Define the multi-year vision, business cases, and product roadmap based on market data and ROI.
• Commercialization: Develop pricing strategies, margin targets, value propositions, and go-to-market (GTM) plans.
• Product Positioning & Messaging: Translate complex DSP architecture into high-impact value propositions for engineering executives and architects. Translate Hyperscaler networking requirements into DSP performance specifications and feature set.
• Market & Competitor Analysis: Continuously analyze customer needs, market trends, and competitor offerings to identify product gaps and opportunities for differentiation.
• Early Adopter Funnel: Partner closely with executive leadership and sales to identify, pitch, and secure critical early-stage design wins with Hyperscalers and module makers.
• Inbound Market Intelligence: Act as the strategic filter for R&D. Gather customer/end user/ecosystem feedback and competitive intelligence to shape our silicon development and future roadmap.
• Ecosystem Marketing: Drive marketing initiatives around our DSP (reference clock, DRV/TIA, MZM, tester, etc.) to enable competitive commercial modular solutions.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with engineering, design, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure products are built to spec and delivered on time.
• Startup Agility & Execution: Own the full marketing stack from high-level positioning to execution. Work with internal team to create sales toolkits, product briefs, application notes, and competitor teardowns from scratch.
What You Will Bring
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical communications or a related technical field.
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or business development specifically within the coherent DSP and optical networking
• Technical Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of DSP architectures, signal processing algorithms and optical module ecosystems
• Startup Mindset with self-motivation: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment. Self-starter who can execute with limited infrastructure.
• Global Exposure: Experience managing product launches or customer engagements globally
• Communication: Masterful ability to synthesize complex networking architectural concepts into clear, high-density business solutions. Ability to work independently with minimal direction while collaborating across engineering, executive leadership, sales and operations
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following:
• Semiconductor marketing
• Optical networking
• Coherent DSP technologies
• High-speed interconnects
• Optical modules
• Hyperscale cloud infrastructure
What Makes You Successful
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building from the ground up.
• Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing day-to-day marketing activities.
• Exceptional storyteller capable of simplifying complex technologies.
• Strong cross-functional collaborator who builds trusted relationships across engineering and executive leadership.
• Curious, creative, and driven to continuously improve.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Passionate about innovation and emerging AI technologies.
Why Join Celero?
