We are seeking Bosnian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Bosnian is a priority Balkan language frequently requested in asylum and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time Bosnian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
  • Interpret accurately, neutrally, and confidentially in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.
  • Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance and interpreter ethics standards.
  • Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native fluency in Bosnian and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, medical, or government preferred).
  • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
  • Strong telephone communication and ability to stay accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
