As a Clinical Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal delivery of clinical pharmaceutical services to our clients, brokers, and consultants. This position requires a strong background in clinical pharmacy practice, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships. You will collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and internal teams to develop and implement solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. Role and Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, fostering strong clinical relationships.

  • Understand the unique needs and challenges of each client and tailor pharmacy services and drug lists to meet their specific requirements.

  • Provide consultative management of day-to-day clinical service offerings supporting the sales, IT, and implementation of the client's clinical programs.

  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to clients and internal teams on drug lists, drug therapy, and treatment protocols.

  • Stay current on emerging trends, advancements, drugs, and regulatory changes in clinical pharmacy practice.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop strategic plans for pharmacy services that align with client objectives and organizational goals.

  • Analyze physician prescribing and member utilization patterns to identify trends and client needs;

  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to manage formularies effectively and improve clinical outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities for expanding pharmacy services within existing client accounts.

  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop proposals, presentations, and other materials to support business development efforts.

  • Attend and lead clinical portion for finalist presentations, client benefit, and utilization reviews.

  • Identify client specific and emerging industry trends as well as short and long term up-sell opportunities.

  • Develop clinical programs for the book of business and client specific clinical recommendations and programs.

  • Participate in business events, conferences, trade shows and seminars on an as needed basis.

  • Travel up to 25% possible

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.

  • 3+ years of experience in PBM, managed care, or clinical pharmacy account management roles.

  • Strong knowledge of formulary management, specialty pharmacy, biosimilars, and healthcare cost-containment strategies.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex clinical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated success in relationship management with external clients and cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on outcomes-based solutions.

  • Experience with GLP-1 utilization management and specialty drug trends preferred.

  • Ability to travel as needed to meet client and business demands.

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing, in at least one state.

  • At least 3 years in managed care, pharmacy benefit management, or specialty pharmacy.

Physical Requirements

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required. Regularly operates in an office or home office setting which involves utilizing a computer, mouse, keyboard, and occasionally operates other standard office equipment, such as printer, copier, phone. Travel may be required by either car or airplane, or a combination of multiple modes of transportation.

Salary:
$140,000-$170,000
