Job Description

NOVACES is seeking a qualified Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) under the Business Management Support Services contract. The selected candidate will provide clinical laboratory expertise with a focus on transfusion medicine and blood product compatibility in support of DoD military and civilian stakeholders.

  • Provide analytical expertise in transfusion medicine and blood product compatibility

  • Perform and oversee blood typing, crossmatching, and compatibility testing

  • Analyze and report on blood product compatibility findings

  • Assess domestic and international blood supply chains, including collection, processing, storage, and distribution capabilities

  • Evaluate differences in blood banking and transfusion practices between the United States and other countries

  • Communicate technical findings clearly through written reports and verbal briefings

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with government personnel and contractor partners

  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations across diverse teams


Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Medical Technology, Chemistry, Hematology).
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of three (3) additional years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Clinical Laboratory Scientist role supporting DoD military and/or civilian customers.
