Mercy Vale Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our outpatient team. This full-time position is remote, providing flexibility while allowing you to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. • Conduct comprehensive assessments for new clients to establish a thorough understanding of their mental health status and specific challenges.
• Develop customized therapy plans that address the unique needs of each client, utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
• Facilitate regular one-on-one therapy sessions, employing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other relevant therapeutic modalities.
• Regularly review and update treatment plans in collaboration with clients to reflect their evolving goals and progress.
• Coordinate with other health professionals and community resources to provide holistic support and referrals when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, training sessions, and support groups to stay current in mental health practices.

The Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse client base that includes individuals grappling with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use, and trauma-related challenges. Your expertise will enable you to provide targeted strategies to enhance coping mechanisms and resilience in clients facing both short-term and long-term mental health issues.

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Active and valid license as LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas is mandatory.
• A minimum of four years of related professional experience in counseling or therapy settings is essential.
• A profound understanding of various mental health disorders and a commitment to employing culturally sensitive practices in therapy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, characterized by the ability to develop meaningful relationships with clients and facilitate open dialogue.
• Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems and handling digital communication platforms.

• Experience in both individual and group therapy, with a focus on trauma-informed care.
• Background in integrating mental health practices within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and management for clients experiencing acute distress.
