• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental health needs, ensuring to document all relevant information meticulously from the first consultation through the entire treatment process.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to facilitate accurate diagnoses.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on the assessment of each client's unique circumstances, which may include strategies for individuals, couples, families, or groups.
• Provide engaging individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the client's specific needs, employing therapeutic modalities that reflect the latest advancements in mental health care.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate clients' progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting interventions as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to craft and review intervention plans, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Follow up with clients who have been admitted to hospitals, liaising with psychiatrists and attending physicians to provide continuity of care.
• Identify barriers to recovery, using your expertise to prevent behaviors that may impede the therapeutic process.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental and behavioral challenges of their loved ones, offering guidance and resources to aid in the overall treatment process.

This role primarily focuses on a varied patient population, ranging from children to adults who are seeking assistance with mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. As a Mental Health Counselor at Ridgeview, your commitment to providing empathetic care will be essential in helping clients navigate their personal mental health journeys.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a strong understanding of therapeutic practices.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain organized and accurate client documentation.

• Experience working with clients who have complex physical and emotional health conditions, including co-occurring disorders.
• Knowledge of the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Acquainted with the impacts of medications prescribed by medical specialists on mental health treatment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective interactions with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills paired with a compassionate demeanor, facilitating trust and rapport with clients.
