• Conduct thorough behavioral health assessments to identify the mental health needs and strengths of Black birthing families.
• Provide individual and group counseling services tailored to the specific requirements of clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Collaborate with prenatal care team members, including medical providers, midwives, doulas, and lactation educators, to deliver holistic and integrated care for clients.
• Facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups alongside birth workers, nurturing a community of shared experiences and support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to case discussions and service improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of best practices in mental health counseling and community health.

You will primarily focus on supporting Black birthing families, providing culturally competent care that acknowledges and respects their unique experiences. Your role will be pivotal in addressing the specific mental health challenges faced by these families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. By offering sensitive and informed support, you will foster resilience and empower clients to achieve their mental health goals.

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Active California licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing for meaningful interactions with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
• Transcultural communication skills and a commitment to serving the diverse needs of our client population.

• Previous experience working with perinatal mental health and maternal health populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with community health systems and resources in California.
• Experience in leading group therapy sessions or educational workshops.
