Regional Sales Manager - West U.S. Region
The Watkins Company has been a pioneer in natural products since 1868. From our world famous Vanilla Extract, to our unique Cinnamon and Black Pepper, The Watkins Company continues to be innovative in categories including but not limited to Extracts, Spices, Dry Seasoning Mixes, and Baking Decorations.
The Watkins Company is looking for a talented Regional Sales Manager for the West U.S. Region.
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop and manage collaborative strategic partnerships and joint business plans.
  • Develop and be accountable for a strong financial plan that delivers top and bottom line growth.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with buyers at retailers to expand the Watkins product portfolio.
  • Champion the voice of the customer internally to align customer initiatives and strategies with The Watkins Company.
  • Manage all broker interaction and develop broker level of involvement.
  • Present and execute at all relevant trade conferences, shows and meetings to drive sales.
  • Demonstrate a passion for driving sales in a “challenger” brand setting.
  • Foster entrepreneurial actions that lead to increased brand awareness and ultimately sales.
  • Perform daily, periodic tasks including, but not limited to, managing the strategic customer relationship, growing the Watkins product portfolio, and presenting monthly account plans and results to sales leadership.
Our ideal candidate will have at minimum:
  • Reside in the West U.S. Region
  • A bachelor’s degree with 3 plus years of experience in CPG sales in the natural food and baking categories.
  • Have headquarter buyer experience with key retailers and wholesalers.
  • Have excellent strategic decision making ability and financial acumen to drive results working with sales agencies.
  • The ability to be innovative and develop creative solutions that result in higher profitability.
  • Be able to manage complexity and have excellent problem solving skills.
  • Have strong communication skills, collaborate well with others, and have a team driven mentality.
This position requires travel 50% to 70% of the time; we ask that our ideal candidate live within 50 miles of a major airport.
