What You'll Do
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Aviation/AOG Operations Manager to lead our logistics team in ensuring rapid response and effective management of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations. This role is critical in supporting operational efficiency, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and driving strategic logistics initiatives that minimize aircraft downtime. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of aviation logistics, regulatory compliance, and team leadership, with a strong ability to deliver under pressure and optimize processes.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Oversee and manage the AOG logistics team, setting clear objectives and performance expectations.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Ensure team readiness and availability to respond to AOG situations 24/7, implementing efficient on-call scheduling.
  • AOG Logistics and Response Strategy:
  • Develop and execute effective logistics strategies for AOG events, ensuring prompt coordination with suppliers, service providers, and operational teams to minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex or critical AOG cases, providing strategic guidance and rapid solutions.
  • Analyze and refine AOG response protocols to improve response time, resource allocation, and cost efficiency.
  • Supply Chain Management and Vendor Relations:
  • Manage end-to-end logistics for AOG parts, including sourcing, transportation, warehousing, and delivery, ensuring timely access to critical components.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure reliability and rapid response capability.
  • Oversee inventory levels of high-demand AOG parts, implementing proactive measures to prevent shortages and reduce lead times.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with aviation industry regulations, safety standards, customs laws, and hazardous materials guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage regulatory documentation and certifications for imported and exported parts to maintain strict compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential logistical disruptions.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting:
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for AOG response times, cost-effectiveness, supplier performance, and team productivity.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management, providing insights on AOG operations and identifying areas for strategic improvement.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for recurring issues, driving initiatives to improve overall service levels.
  • Process Improvement and Technology Integration:
  • Identify, implement, and lead continuous improvement projects to streamline logistics processes, reduce response times, and enhance cost-efficiency.
  • Leverage logistics management technology to optimize workflow and data accuracy.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, introducing innovative solutions and advanced tools to improve AOG operations.

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation logistics, supply chain management, or AOG operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
