CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER - REMOTE
ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for a Cybersecurity Engineer! This position is 100% remote working eastern time zone business hours. This is starting out as a contract position running through July 2025 with strong potential to extend longer or convert to FTE. Key Responsibilities
  • Research, evaluate, validate, and recommend technical security solutions; assist with build, test, and implementation for the enterprise and subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate with product vendors and service providers to support security capabilities and processes.
  • Manage system/application environments, configurations, policies, and operational activities for assigned technical security solutions.
  • Monitor, report on, and enhance the performance of assigned security systems.
  • Respond to and manage security technology incidents, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, resolving alerts, and performing remediation tasks.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure timely resolution of security work requests and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation (procedures, engineering diagrams, knowledge base articles) for security systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data on security solutions to peers, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in system migrations, upgrades, and disposal while evaluating associated risks and impacts.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, design, and implementation for security technologies.
  • Perform remediation actions based on vulnerability assessments or audits.
  • Provide training on security capabilities, processes, and operational tasks.

Qualifications
Required
  • Education: Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Work Experience:
    • 4+ years of related work experience.
    • 2+ years in cybersecurity.
    • 2+ years in IT infrastructure.
  • Certifications: SSCP (required within 180 days of hire).
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP networking.
    • Basic security concepts and controls for networks, applications, and operating systems.
    • Knowledge of vulnerability and patch management.
    • Strong technical, analytical, and documentation skills.
    • Effective problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Desire to learn, adapt, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with Illumio, Tetration, and/or Guardicore.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies such as Agile, Lean, or SAFe.
  • Knowledge of security reference architecture standards and blueprints.
