Remote Associate Attorney information

What are remote associate attorneys?

Remote associate attorneys are licensed lawyers who work for law firms or legal departments from a location outside of the traditional office, often from home or another remote location. They handle legal research, draft documents, participate in client meetings, and assist senior attorneys with case preparation, all while collaborating virtually. This role leverages technology to communicate with clients and colleagues, making it possible to fulfill legal duties without being physically present at the firm's office.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Associate Attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Associate Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor degree, bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction, and strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis, case management software, and secure document-sharing platforms is essential. Outstanding communication, time management, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and meeting deadlines. These skills and qualities ensure high-quality legal work, efficient remote practice, and effective client representation in a distributed work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Associate Attorneys, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Associate Attorneys often encounter challenges related to communication and collaboration due to the virtual nature of the role. Staying connected with supervising attorneys and colleagues requires proactive communication, regular check-ins, and effective use of collaboration tools. Managing time zones and differing work schedules can also be challenging, so setting clear expectations and utilizing project management platforms can help keep everyone aligned. Additionally, building relationships remotely may require extra effort, such as participating in virtual team meetings and informal chats to foster team cohesion.

Job description

Now Hiring: Remote Associate Attorney | San Antonio-Based | No Billables | No Sales

New Gig Solutions is excited to partner with a long-established, mission-driven law firm that has been advocating for individuals facing financial hardship since 2011. With a presence in multiple states and a trusted model that consistently delivers results, the firm is expanding to meet continued demandโ€”and is now hiring a remote Associate Attorney based in Sarasota/Surrounding areas.

Position: Associate Attorney
Location: Remote (Must reside in San Antonio / Surrounding Areas)
Bar Admission: Must be licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar
Experience: 1โ€“5 years of litigation or negotiation experience

About the Firm:

Founded in 2011, this firm has helped thousands of working-class clients resolve financial and legal challenges with dignity. They focus on debt resolution, creditor issues, and tenant disputesโ€”work that makes a tangible impact. Their approach is grounded in empathy, fairness, and a genuine commitment to work-life balance.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking meaningful, mission-driven legal workโ€”without the typical pressures of billables, business development, or late nights. You'll be provided with a steady caseload, all necessary remote tools, and full support from an experienced legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

ยท Manage client matters from intake through resolution

ยท Negotiate with creditors and opposing counsel

ยท Handle cases involving debt collection, financial hardship, or tenant rights

ยท Use the firm's Salesforce-based system to track progress and manage communications

ยท Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and administrative staff

What You Won't Do:

ยท No billable hour requirements

ยท No sales or client acquisition

ยท No fee generation responsibilities

ยท No late nightsโ€”standard 9-to-6 schedule with real balance

Ideal Candidate Profile:

ยท Texas Bar license and San Antonio or surrounding area residency required

ยท 1โ€“5 years of litigation, negotiation, or relevant legal experience

ยท Background in consumer law, financial disputes, or personal injury is a PLUS

ยท Strong communication and organizational skills

ยท Committed to a full-time role (not running their own practice on the side)

ยท Passionate about helping underserved or vulnerable populations

What You'll Receive:

ยท Competitive salary and benefits package

ยท Fully remote work setup (laptop, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc.)

ยท Access to the firm's Salesforce-based case portal

ยท Consistent, meaningful caseload

ยท Mentorship from an experienced Managing Attorney
