What is a remote architectural illustrator?

A Remote Architectural Illustrator is a professional who creates detailed drawings, renderings, and visualizations of architectural designs while working from a remote location. They use digital tools and software to produce images that help architects, clients, and builders visualize projects before construction begins. Their work often includes 2D and 3D renderings, floor plans, and conceptual illustrations used for presentations, marketing, or planning purposes. Working remotely allows these illustrators to collaborate with clients and teams from anywhere, leveraging cloud-based platforms and communication tools.

How does a remote architectural illustrator typically collaborate with architects and design teams?

Remote Architectural Illustrators frequently collaborate with architects, interior designers, and project managers through digital platforms. Communication is mainly conducted via email, video calls, and shared cloud-based tools, allowing illustrators to present drafts, receive feedback, and refine designs in real-time. Effective collaboration requires clear communication skills, familiarity with project management software, and the ability to adapt to different design workflows. Building strong relationships remotely is key to ensuring that the final illustrations accurately reflect the project's vision and requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote architectural illustrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Architectural Illustrator, you need strong abilities in architectural drawing, design principles, and visual storytelling, often supported by a degree in architecture, design, or a related field. Proficiency with digital illustration tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software is typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and clear communication are vital soft skills for collaborating with clients and remote teams. These skills ensure accurate, visually compelling representations that effectively communicate architectural concepts and meet client expectations.

Remote Frontend Developer

Job description

We're hiring a Frontend Developer to own the UI of a consumer-facing web application — the screens, components, and interactions people actually touch.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.
  • No degree required. Bootcamp grads, self-taught developers, and career changers welcome.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast.

About The Role

This is a frontend-specialist seat — distinct from a general junior or full-stack application role. We need someone who lives in the UI: React (or Vue/Angular), component systems, CSS, responsive layouts, and making the product feel fast and clear.

We have a working product and a real engineering team, so you won't be guessing at architecture or building the backend from scratch. You'll take designs and product intent and turn them into shipped, accessible, production UI. If you've built interfaces people actually use — even if that's bootcamp projects, freelance, or a production app you didn't architect — this is your seat.

Compensation

Up to $115,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days
  • You've gotten your local development environment running and submitted your first UI PR
  • You've reviewed the component structure and understand where screens and styles live
  • You've attended your first engineering standup and know how the team communicates
  • You've shipped (or nearly shipped) a small UI feature or polish pass
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Build UI — ship screens, components, and interactions in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
  • Make it feel right — responsive layouts, loading states, empty states, and the details that make a product usable
  • Work from design and product intent — turn Figma (or a rough brief) into production UI without needing every pixel specified
  • Keep the frontend healthy — reusable components, sensible CSS, and code that's easy for the next person to change
  • Participate in code reviews — review others' UI PRs and learn from reviews of yours
  • Fix frontend bugs — layout, state, browser quirks — and ship the fix
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • Solid in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular) — you've built real UI, not just tutorials
  • Comfortable with HTML, CSS (Flexbox/Grid), and JavaScript/TypeScript enough to ship without constant hand-holding
  • Can read an existing component codebase and add to it without rewriting everything
  • Understand the basics: Git, REST APIs from the client side, browser dev tools
  • Strong async communicator — clear PR descriptions and you flag blockers early

Nice-to-have:

  • TypeScript, accessibility (a11y), or design-system / component-library experience
  • A portfolio, GitHub, or live site you can point us to
  • Bootcamp, CS degree, or self-taught — we care about what you can do, not how you learned it
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
What You're NOT
  • Not a full-stack / backend hire — you may call APIs; you're not owning the server
  • Not a visual designer — you'll implement UI; we're not hiring for brand or illustration
  • Not a solo developer — you'll have engineers around you and a structured frontend to work in
