What is a remote apprenticeship?

A Remote Apprenticeship is a job opportunity where individuals gain hands-on experience and training in a specific field while working remotely. It combines structured learning with practical work under the guidance of a mentor or experienced professional. Typically, remote apprenticeships are designed to help individuals develop skills, gain industry knowledge, and transition into full-time roles. They are common in fields like tech, marketing, design, and business operations.

How does a remote apprenticeship typically structure mentorship and feedback?

Remote Apprenticeships often utilize scheduled video calls, regular check-ins, and collaborative project management tools to ensure consistent mentorship and feedback. Apprentices are usually paired with experienced team members or supervisors who provide guidance, review work, and offer constructive feedback on a regular basis. While you may not interact in person, you’ll have many opportunities to connect via chat, email, or virtual meetings, which helps simulate an in-office support system. Being proactive in seeking clarification and taking initiative in communications helps build strong mentor-apprentice relationships and enhances your learning experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote apprenticeship, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Remote Apprenticeship, you need a willingness to learn, basic industry-related knowledge, and a proactive attitude, often supplemented by relevant coursework, certifications, or prior internships. Comfort with digital collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack, and cloud-based project platforms is typically required. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, time management, and responsiveness help remote apprentices stand out. These competencies are crucial for meeting deadlines, staying engaged without onsite supervision, and making the most of training opportunities in a virtual environment.

What we are looking for:
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions.
  • You are self-motivated, organized, and attentive to detail, with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple projects effectively while contributing as a collaborative team member.
  • You have strong communication and listening skills.
  • You can work independently but believe in teamwork.
  • College or University degree preferred, ideally in architectural design, engineering, drafting, construction science, construction management, business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools required; Technical and electronic aptitude is a plus.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in a home office environment.

What you can look forward to:
