Position Overview

The Content Marketing Manager leads the development, planning, and orchestration of digital marketing content that supports QTS business priorities, campaigns, customer engagement, and go-to-market initiatives. This role is responsible for turning business needs into clear content strategies, actionable briefs, and coordinated production plans across digital, communications, marketing, design, and video teams.

This person is a strong content strategist, researcher, editor, project manager, and cross-functional partner who can organize competing requests, find the right insights, and keep work moving across teams. They bring structure to the content process while ensuring the final output is aligned to brand standards, campaign objectives, audience needs, and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the editorial calendar across digital channels, ensuring content plans are connected to campaigns, business priorities, key events, and customer engagement needs.
  • Lead content intake, planning, and prioritization processes, helping teams evaluate what should be created, when it should be delivered, and how it should support broader business objectives.
  • Write and develop content briefs that clearly define the audience, objective, message, channel, stakeholder inputs, creative requirements, timing, and success measures.
  • Find the data and conduct research needed to inform content development, including industry trends, customer insights, subject matter expertise, performance metrics, and supporting proof points.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between communications, marketing, design, video, digital, and subject matter experts to move content from concept through review, approval, and execution.
  • Manage project workflows, timelines, stakeholder communication, review cycles, and approvals to ensure content is delivered efficiently and with clear ownership.
  • Ensure content aligns with QTS brand standards, campaign strategy, business priorities, customer journeys, and channel-specific best practices.
  • Measure content engagement and performance across channels, identifying what is working, what needs to be optimized, and where future content planning should be adjusted.
  • Recommend content optimizations, refreshes, repurposing opportunities, and distribution strategies based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain content governance standards, including consistency, quality control, editorial best practices, source management, and content organization.
  • Support content development as needed, including drafting, editing, shaping messaging, and translating complex business information into clear, audience-focused content.
  • Partner with internal teams to build and maintain a reusable content library that supports business unit needs, sales enablement, campaign execution, and executive-level storytelling.
Content Development and Operations

Acts as the quarterback for content production. This role brings the right people together, clarifies priorities, manages timelines, keeps stakeholders aligned, and ensures content is strategically planned before it is created. The position balances editorial judgment with project management discipline, helping the organization produce stronger content with a more consistent process.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, editorial planning, communications, or related marketing roles.
  • Experience managing content calendars, content requests, project timelines, stakeholder reviews, and cross-functional workflows.
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and content briefing skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into clear content direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once, prioritize competing requests, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in data centers, commercial real estate, construction, technology, professional services, or other complex B2B environments.
  • Experience supporting campaign content, digital content, thought leadership, sales enablement, executive presentations, or go-to-market materials.
  • Comfort working with subject matter experts and turning technical, operational, or business information into compelling content.
  • Familiarity with content performance reporting, digital engagement metrics, SEO principles, and content optimization practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to connect content to audience needs, business priorities, and campaign objectives.
  • Excellent project management skills, including workflow planning, timeline management, follow-up, and issue escalation.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across marketing, communications, creative, digital, video, sales, and business unit teams.
  • Strong research and data-gathering skills, with the ability to identify relevant insights and proof points that strengthen content.
  • Clear, concise, and audience-focused writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to organize complex information, simplify messaging, and create structure for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with content management, project management, digital marketing, or analytics platforms is helpful.
