We are seekinga talented Junior Network Security Engineer (Overnight Shift) for a Full-time position located in Tampa, FL.


This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within reasonable driving distance of our Tampa, FL headquarters.


General Description

Monitor and identify threats on customer's network and perform necessary triage on the eventsbefore escalating.Create, assign and update cases based on events detected by the customer's intrusion detection device, Firewall or reported by customers.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist the Network Security teamto achieveteam goals.
  • Monitor the health and status of deployed IDSsystems,firewall devices andreviewprocesses to ensure continuity of service.
  • Maintain knowledge of current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of a client's historical and currentvulnerabilities.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of the history of attacks on the client's infrastructure.
  • Identifying patterns of current and potential future attacks, using DNI analysis tools, and making recommendations to the client regarding prevention or risk mitigation.
  • Responding to all urgent threats and attacks on the client's infrastructure "as if a member of the client organization".
  • Ensure all assigned service tickets receive response and resolution within contracted SLA obligation.


Skills/Abilities

  • Experience working with Infrastructure monitoring solutionsas well asworking withhelpdesksoftware and ticketing systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, bothwritten and verbal.
  • Flexible team player, tenacious in problem solving, analytical and excellent communicator.
  • Comfortabledoingsome repetitive administration tasks.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations over the phone andable to directa callerto the correct person or department.
  • Capable of functioning in high-stress, fast-paced office environment.
  • Flexibility to work on a 24x7 basis when required.
  • Understanding of OSI model and common services & protocols.
  • Ability to analyze and correlate information from multiple sources to correctly interpret the context of a situation.


Experience, Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or three (3)years' experiencein network security management and response services.


Availability Requirements

  • Primary schedule: Overnight shift (6pm-6am).
  • Occasional on-call coverage may be required.
  • Flexibility to work on a 24x7 basis when required.
  • Ability to work early and late when scheduled in advance.
  • Ability to work from home office space & Internet connection required.


Travel Requirements

  • Less than 5% travel, if any.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with customers and internal teams via phone and virtual meetings.
  • Occasional on-site work may be required, including handling network or server equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
