About this role:

Liftoff is seeking a full-time People Operations Generalist to join our People Operations team. This role provides complete people operations support across the employee lifecycle, including answering employee inquiries through our HR ticketing system, leave management, benefits support and administration, onboarding and off-boarding, immigration support, and partnership with our People Business Partner team. We strive to deliver a best-in-class employee experience to all of our employees globally. You will provide support primarily for the Americas region (the United States, Brazil, and Canada), while also assisting with people-related programs that impact our global population, including our bi-annual merit and promotion process and employee engagement surveys.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees' HR-related inquiries through our HR Ticketing system, maintaining confidentiality and providing an excellent employee experience. 
  • Manage the global HR onboarding and offboarding process for all new hires and terminations, with a focus on the Americas region, including coordinating payroll paperwork, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with work authorization for new hires.
  • Manage and administer all compliance-related training globally
  • Manage current employee data in our global HRIS system; experience with UKG/Ultipro is a strong plus.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring the integrity of employee data.
  • Administer leave of absence compliance to support a seamless employee experience through Cocoon, our US-based leave management system.
  • Provide additional leave support outside of Cocoon for our Canada- and Brazil-based employees.
  • Support benefits administration and partner with our international benefits providers across the Americas.
  • Support the team during performance and compensation cycles, including our bi-annual merit and promotion process.
  • Support employee engagement surveys and other people programs impacting our global population.
  • Serve as a backup for EMEA/APAC-related onboarding, offboarding, leaves, benefits, and employee questions.
  • Collaborate with the broader People Operations team to help implement and improve effective company-wide people processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of HR Generalist/Operations experience working in fast-paced technology environments; start-up and public company experience preferred.
  • PHR or aPHR certification OR willingness to obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Experience managing global HR systems, preferably UKG/Ultipro.
  • Prior experience with leave administration in the US; experience with Canada and Brazil is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, including reassigning, categorizing, and updating tickets, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and a commitment to workplace integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give and receive open, constructive feedback in a way that cultivates trust and respect.
  • Proven analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

This role is eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, UT, and WA.

We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Travel Expectations:
We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. We expect our employees to attend these gatherings at least once per quarter. These gatherings provide essential opportunities for collaboration, communication, and team building.

Compensation:
Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on the candidate's location and experience.

The following are our base salary ranges for this role: 

  • SF Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County, Seattle: $82,000 - $100,000 plus bonus
  • All other California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington state locations: $75,000 - $92,000 plus bonus 
  • All other cities and towns in our approved states: $70,000 - $86,000 plus bonus
