Full-Time, On-Site in Bremerton, WA

Hiring Range: $22.67 - $27.78 Per Hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a People Experience Coordinator to support our mission of creating a connected, supportive, and thriving workplace for all employees. In this role, you’ll provide critical administrative and operational support for our People Experience Department—helping ensure smooth HR processes, accurate records, and an exceptional employee experience. You’ll assist with recruitment, onboarding, training logistics, and employee engagement while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and responsiveness to staff and leadership needs.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by responding to employee and applicant questions, referring complex inquiries to appropriate HR staff.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for visitors, employees, and the public.
• Track and maintain required documentation such as licenses, certifications, and food worker cards, and generate compliance reports for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with agency driving requirements by collecting and tracking driving-related documentation and performing background checks.
• Conduct Washington State Patrol background checks for new hires, student visitors, and 24/7 staff annually.
• Manage employee facility access by creating ID badges, assigning BRIVO access, and maintaining related records and proximity reports.
• Coordinate pre-boarding communication with new hires and verify completion of onboarding checklists before their first day.
• Complete Verification of Employment requests and coordinate with Payroll as needed.
• Serve on the Space Committee by coordinating workspace assignments, access, equipment requests, and furniture orders for new hires or position changes.
• Order and maintain office supplies for assigned areas and manage department mail distribution.
• Complete Form I-9 verifications and documentation per federal guidelines.
• Assist with scheduling, coordination, and preparation for department and agency events.
• Engage in special projects as assigned by the Director of People Experience.
• Actively represent the People Experience team at KMHS events and staff functions.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School (or GED)

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Associates Degree (in Business or related field)

EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)

LICENSES/CREDENTIALS: Human Resource Professional certifications such as aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP.

Performance Requirements:

 

KNOWLEDGE

  1. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information systems (HRIS) and similar computer applications. 

SKILLS:

  1. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint).
  2. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, time management, and attention to detail. 

ABILITIES:

  1. Requires the ability to prepare professional correspondence for routine communications with internal and external customers. 
  2. Requires the ability to maintain up-to-date records and ensure security and confidentiality of information.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced work environment, including operating a multi-phone line device.
  4. Ability to exercise discretion and reliably handle matters of a confidential nature.  

 

 

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, printers, telephones, cameras, etc.

 

Work Environment: Office. Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods

 

Mental/Physical Requirements:  While performing the job duties, the employee is required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers reach with arms, talk, and listen. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds required.
