SUMMARY
The Amazon Channel Specialist supports the strategy and ongoing optimization of Ascension's Amazon business across the Consumer Products division. This role serves as a tactical and strategic partner to product managers and team marketers. The Amazon Channel Specialist ensures that products are set up correctly on Amazon, discoverable, and continually optimized for conversion and profitable growth, while partnering with Operations to identify inventory and availability risks early and drive urgent resolution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Channel Strategy & Launch Planning Support. Serve as an Amazon tactical and strategic partner to product managers and team marketers. Support product-specific go-to-market strategies by suggesting listing architecture, evaluating content readiness, identifying keyword targets, providing advertising support, aligning launch timelines, and optimizing PDPs in an ongoing way after launch.
  • ASIN & Catalog Setup. Work with product managers, marketers, and Operations to accurately and on time establish ASINs, including product attributes, categories, browse nodes, catalog data quality, variations, and identifiers. Troubleshoot suppressed, duplicated, merged, or inaccurate listings.
  • Product Detail Pages & A+ Content. Partner with team marketers and designers to translate product positioning into effective Amazon detail pages. Deploy A+ Content and other brand assets, and improve page accuracy, clarity, discoverability, and conversion.
  • Organic Discoverability & Keyword Strategy. Conduct keyword and competitive research and recommend priority search terms for titles, bullets, descriptions, backend fields, A+ Content, and related merchandising. Track organic visibility and adjust recommendations as search behavior evolves.
  • Support Paid Advertising Strategy. Identify key Amazon advertising opportunities for each product and partner with team marketers to build, deploy, and refine campaigns. Align paid investments with launch goals, seasonality, inventory, profitability, and organic growth opportunities.
  • Performance Analysis & Iterative Optimization. Evaluate sales, traffic, conversion, search, and advertising performance; identify themes across products and campaigns; and turn findings into specific actions. Help marketers iteratively optimize product pages, keywords, bids, budgets, targeting, and campaign structure.
  • Inventory & Availability. Monitor availability, weeks of cover, buy-box status, and other inventory signals. Flag risks proactively, partner with Operations to determine the cause, and ensure stockouts, receiving issues, and other availability problems are addressed urgently.
  • Channel Health & Process Improvement. Monitor catalog health, policy changes, and emerging Amazon capabilities. Build repeatable launch and optimization practices, share channel learnings across teams, and improve the division's overall effectiveness on Amazon.
  • Bulk Operations & Spreadsheet Proficiency. Manage catalog updates through Vendor Central's Excel-based workflows. Effectively navigate complex spreadsheet templates and API-driven requirements that are standard for large-scale vendors while addressing the specific needs of publishing catalogs.

Requirements

    • 5+ years of e-commerce or digital marketing experience, including meaningful hands-on responsibility for the Amazon channel.
    • Vendor Central experience required, with an understanding of consignment supply models; Seller Central experience valued for potential complementary use.
    • Experience with Amazon Ads, Brand Registry, A+ Content, catalog management, and product detail page optimization required.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Amazon's go-to-market strategies for new products and improve performance after launch.
    • Experience with keyword research, search optimization, competitive analysis, and Amazon analytics or advertising tools.
    • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to interpret sales, traffic, conversion, and advertising data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
    • Excellent project management and follow-through, with the ability to coordinate multiple launches and priorities across cross-functional teams.

    • Experience with books, publishing metadata, ISBNs, or a broader consumer products portfolio is required.
    • Ability to work proactively, respond quickly to channel and inventory issues, and adapt in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
    • Strong understanding of, or enthusiasm for learning, Ascension's Catholic audience, mission, and product portfolio.
