What is a remote Amazon Connect?

A Remote Amazon Connect job typically involves working with Amazon Connect, a cloud-based contact center service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), from a remote location. Professionals in these roles may be responsible for setting up, managing, or supporting Amazon Connect environments, integrating it with other systems, or assisting customers and users. Common positions include technical support, solutions architect, customer service representative, or cloud engineer. These jobs allow individuals to work from home or any location with internet access, providing flexibility and access to global opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Amazon Connect specialist?

To excel as a Remote Amazon Connect Specialist, you need a deep understanding of cloud-based contact center solutions, telephony systems, and experience with AWS services such as Amazon Connect, Lambda, and S3. Familiarity with call flow design tools, APIs, and AWS certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer are highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and the capacity to work independently make candidates stand out in remote settings. These skills and qualifications are essential to effectively deploy, optimize, and support scalable customer contact solutions while collaborating remotely with teams and clients.

What are some common challenges faced when working remotely as an Amazon Connect specialist, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Amazon Connect specialists often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting complex cloud contact center issues without in-person support and maintaining effective communication with distributed teams. To address these, it's important to leverage collaboration tools (like Slack and video conferencing), document solutions thoroughly, and proactively schedule regular check-ins. Additionally, staying current with Amazon Connect updates and best practices through online communities and AWS resources can help specialists resolve issues efficiently and remain productive in a remote environment.

Job description

At TTEC Digital, we coach clients to ensure their employees feel valued, and fully supported, because an amazing customer experience is an employee first process. Our vision is the same, a place where employees know they can thrive.
TTEC Digital is seeking an AWS Team Lead, Development, to join our AWS Partner Practice. This is a remote role based in the United States.
The TTEC Digital AWS Partner Practice comprises over 150 brilliant technical experts, has received numerous best-in-class awards from AWS, and was the first Amazon Connect partner globally to be signed. The practice has delivered over 500 AWS customer launches, improving the customer experience for more than 3.5 million conversations to date.
As the AWS Team Lead, Development, working remotely in the US, you will provide the vision, execution, and direction to implement strategies, processes, and technologies that deliver best-in-class customer experience.
Our AWS Practice teams function as autonomous units working with multiple clients at any given time. Developer teams consist of three to four developers, including the team lead and a project manager. After receiving SOWs and rough requirements from our sales team, the Team Lead works with the PM on the team to perform detailed discovery and to plan out the sprints of the project alongside the client's product owners. Our teams are treated as a group of equals, but the lead has the final say and responsibility for the technical decisions made on a project. As such, the lead must be able to handle professional conflict in a way that is productive and edifying, not destructive to the morale of their teammates. Reporting to the Technology Manager, the Team Leads are expected to contribute to Best Practice Documentation within the organization.
Our AWS Practice solutions include an ever-evolving field of AWS-focused contact center implementations, and the Lead is expected to stay current on the latest and greatest from Amazon as well as the broader industry. The Team Lead will ensure our team continues to polish our practice to deliver faster with higher quality and better performance for our clients.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Morning meetings with internal team and clients
  • Requirements analysis and design conversations when you have a new project starting.
  • Working on issues in Jira with your team - building systems, creating CloudFormation/Serverless templates to deploy resources, etc.
  • Helping junior team members with struggles in code and in teamwork.
  • Studying new AWS Services, tools, or even new languages to address project needs.
  • You need to be ready to learn quickly!

What You Will Bring;
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture
  • Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, Redshift, VPC/Network configurations
  • 10+ years of development experience with a recent focus on Node.js/Typescript, working with AWS services.
  • Thorough knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Ability to mentor more junior team members and to correct constructively, fostering growth in the team's skills while strengthening relationships amongst team members
  • The ideal candidate seeks to understand before prescribing a solution.
  • Love of technology and the latest and greatest in development best practices, especially the latest services from AWS

$145,000 - $165,000 a year
This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill levels.
Benefits available to eligible employees include the following:
- Medical, dental, vision
- tax-advantaged health care accounts
- financial and income protection benefits
- paid time off (PTO) and wellness time off.
This job posting will remain open until we have identified an adequate applicant pool. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.
