SOFTWARE DEVELOPER ENGINEER TESTER (SDET) - Integrations Focus
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports to: QA Director
Location: Remote
Classification: Salary/Exempt/Full-time


JOB SUMMARY

The SDET is primarily responsible for the quality of system integrations, with MultiSpeak as the primary standard, and
SOAP web services are used when MultiSpeak is not applicable. The role also covers general software testing
responsibilities assigned to the QA Department.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Designs, develops, executes, and maintains automated and manual tests for integrations (primarily MultiSpeak,
    secondarily SOAP), including validation of data exchange, interoperability, error handling, and end-to-end flows
  2. Responsible for software testing, issue tracking, maintenance of testing tools, advocating for the user, and release readiness reporting, utilizing established testing frameworks or test automation
  3. Reproduces bugs logged in Azure DevOps for consideration of inclusion in sprint activities
  4. Investigates customer problems referred by the technical support team (especially integration-related issues), tests bugs, and creates and manages bug reports
  5. Designs, develops, and maintains backend automation tests and test tools, including hammer/load tests relevant to integration endpoints and services
  6. Works with Product teams, coordinates on product design, and offers input on the testability of functional
    elements-particularly integration points and interfaces
  7. Reports bugs while testing new features, releases, and integration changes
  8. Examines new features and integration capabilities from the user's and consuming system's perspective, and
    suggests improvements based on testing and feature specifications
  9. Creates, modifies, and validates software, integration, and testing system documentation
  10. Maintains and improves a testing Standard Data Set to support realistic MultiSpeak/SOAP integration scenarios
  11. Maintains regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to
    relevant health and safety procedures
  12. Upholds, safeguards, and promotes Milsoft's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, integrity, and
    corporate responsibility
  13. Performs any other duties that may be necessary or assigned from time to time; such duties do not normally
    change the level of the job


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
  2. Three years of information technology SDET and systems/application testing experience
  3. Demonstrated experience testing system integrations, preferably with MultiSpeak; strong experience with SOAP
    web services when MultiSpeak is not used
  4. Preferred two years of automation testing experience (TestComplete, Testim, or comparable tools; API/integration automation experience is highly valued)
  5. Experience or familiarity with the Agile software development methodology
  6. Experience with Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Azure DevOps
  7. Experience or familiarity with some or all of the following: C#, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, XML, and web
    services concepts
  8. Knowledge and understanding of test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and expected
    results-especially for integration and interface testing
  9. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  10. Demonstrated experience in test framework design and development (backend/API focus preferred)
  11. Understanding of the flow of code and how it interacts with different components and external systems
  12. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
