Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Consultant - VMware Avi Load Balancer based in Netherlands.

This role is centered on designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade application delivery infrastructure using the VMware Avi Load Balancer platform. You will play a key technical leadership role in building scalable, high-performance load balancing architectures that support both traditional virtualized environments and modern cloud-native workloads, including Kubernetes and AI/ML systems. The position requires strong hands-on expertise in networking and load balancing, with a focus on improving application availability, performance, and operational efficiency. You will work across complex, multi-tenant environments, ensuring robust automation, observability, and reliability of the load balancing ecosystem. The environment is highly technical and infrastructure-driven, requiring both architectural thinking and deep troubleshooting capability. This is a high-impact consulting role where your work directly strengthens enterprise application delivery and resilience.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of VMware Avi Load Balancer environments across enterprise-scale infrastructures.
  • Architect and support end-to-end application delivery solutions ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across VM-based and containerized workloads.
  • Implement and troubleshoot Avi Load Balancer components including Controllers, Service Engines, and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB).
  • Configure and enhance automation workflows to enable secure, multi-tenant self-service load balancing capabilities.
  • Support integration of Avi with cloud and virtualization platforms, including VCF automation and orchestration tools.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance using centralized logging, observability, and proactive health management tools.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and networking teams to ensure seamless traffic management and application delivery.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and operational support for complex load balancing and networking issues.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in network load balancing and application delivery infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware Avi Load Balancer in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of Avi architecture including Controllers, Service Engines, and GSLB.
  • Deep networking knowledge including TCP/IP, BGP EVPN, Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways, and SSL/TLS offloading.
  • Experience working with cloud and virtualization environments, particularly VMware VCF automation and integration.
  • Strong skills in infrastructure troubleshooting, performance tuning, and operational support.
  • Familiarity with automation and self-service infrastructure provisioning concepts.
  • VMware Certified Professional - Avi Load Balancer Administrator certification required.
  • Additional networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or F5 are considered a strong plus.
